  • Forrester's dorky attempt at flirting with Sylvia is equal parts hilarious and adorable.
Sylvia: I didn't recognize you; you weren't wearing glasses in the photo.
Forrester: Well, they're mainly for distance. I take them off when I want to look closely at something. (takes off his glasses and looks at Sylvia) There, you see.
  • The last thing Uncle Matthew says to Sylvia is to essentially give his blessing of Dr. Forrester, who she has clearly been smitten with.
Uncle Matthew: Sylvia, I like that Dr. Forrester. He's a good man.
  • When all hope seems lost, all Dr Forrester cares about is finding Sylvia. And like any good Determinator he never gives up.
Priest: Don't go, son. Stay with us.
Forrester: No, I'm looking for someone. She'll be in a church, standing by the door.
  • Dr Forrester's last lines sum up the feelings that were most likely being felt by all the people of Earth at the end of the film.
Dr Forrester: We prayed for a miracle.
