Heartwarming / The Second Archon War

Go To

  • Nagasaki's inhabitants desperately praying for anybody listening to save them from Leviathan is both horrifying and a first-grade Tearjerker. What makes it powerfully sweet is the fact Raiden Ei hears them. And answers.
  • As Kenta hesitates to believe the Endslayer really wants for a former Yakuza thug to join her retinue, Ei reminds him he was ready to sacrifice his life for her to obtain the opportunity to slay Leviathan. As far as she's concerned, his bravery has washed his sins clear.
  • Cauldron's collected data points hinting at Scion genuinely worrying about provoking the Raiden Shogun, bringing them hope he can be fought after years of slowly sinking in despair.
  • Venti dispels Capri and Naomi's anxiety around him by mentioning he served as officiant for several lesbian weddings, and later gets outraged by the very idea of the Gesselschaft's homophobic rhetoric as it dares to forbid people to love each other.
    • Legend squeeing when he learns Venti is non-binary and fighting for the LGBT cause in Germany.
  • In spite of witnessing Venti in Angelic Abomination mode, Capri and Naomi refuse to be scared of him. Made even more poignant by Venti's belief they wouldn't want to travel with him anymore.
  • Venti's concert lifting the brainwashing on Night and Fog, acknowledging they were deprived of the freedom to choose their path.
    • Dorothy's inner monologue constantly berated herself for being ugly and a monster. What is the first thing her husband does after the brainwashing is lifted? He tells her that she's beautiful.
  • The fact that Nahida's first day on Earth Bet is the reverse of her first memory as Kusanali. Where the Sages immediately dragged her away to be locked in the sanctuary and waste in neglect, Farasha and Bashir treat her as a little girl who deserves to be protected, who deserves books to read and time to play in the garden, and who deserves to be loved no matter her powers or her pointy ears. And the best thing — it happens on October 27th. Happy birthday, Nahida.
