Volume 1: Thus, She is Reborn
- After Momo runs off, Menou reflects on how Momo was acting even more over-the-top than usual, and how she only ever seems to do that after Menou has a particular unpleasant mission, What's more, Menou realizes that she actually does feel much better after her encounter with Momo, and thinks about how grateful she is to have someone who is affectionate to her despite the horrible things she regularly does.
- During the train hijacking, one of the hijackers tries to force Menou to strip. Akari steps in and offers to strip in Menou's place. Menou outright states that Akari is a civilian, and she should not be treated in such a way. She takes advantage of the hijacker being distracted, and she knocks him and his partner out. She also appears genuinely touched by Akari's courage in the face of the hijacker and thanks her for it.
- * When a monster attempts to attack Akari with a sword, Menou dives into Akari and pushes her out of the way of the attack. Even though Menou knows Akari would most likely not die from the attack, she still protected Akari out of reflex. It was another showing of how Menou is far from being a cold blooded killer. It also indicates that while she is duty bound to kill Akari, she does not necessarily wish to kill Akari.
- When Menou asks Akari for help to prevent a train collusion, Akari accepts Menou's request without hesitation. Menou is touched by how much Akari is willing to put her trust in her.
- In a flashback, Menou outright asks why the Strays can't be sent home rather than needing to be killed. Despite seeing how dangerous Strays can be, she wished to know if there was an alternative method of handling them rather than killing them.
- Menou agreeing to take Akari sightseeing. She continues to mull over why Akari is so willing to trust her despite only meeting her recently.
- Menou purchases a gift for Momo for being helpful to her.
