- While the film is very gloomy considering the source material it adapts it has moments that remind us that Spider-Man/Peter Parker is loved not only for his powers but his ability to always come back from tragedy.
- Any of the scenes between Peter and Gwen. It’s shown that despite Peters habitual tardiness and seeming inability to make time for her and their friends Gwen still loved him faults and all.
- Tim. The kid actively worships Spider-Man and throughout their entire interaction even when Peter is essentially trying to dispel him of the notion that he is a good role model to look up to he maintains his faith in Spider-Man and in the end it is Peter realizing this that finally allows him to push past his grief and not only continue as Spider-Man but also make amends with Harry and MJ (who he has been treating terribly and pushing away since Gwen’s death.)
