• Mark Van Doren spends most of the film as a mocking father to Charles, but during a night time chat, Charles notes that he he doesnt think he'll ever be happier than when sat with a glass of milk and slice of chocolate cake from the fridge. Mark replies he will, when he has a son.
  • This has a rather negative effect on Charles, though, and for the viewer: it only underlines how disappointed Mark will be when it turns out his son is a massive cheat.
