Heartwarming / Monsters (2010)

• Andrew and Samantha spend a single night with a hospitable family after leaving the train at the start, where Andrew was so good with the children that the mother wondered if the pair were married. When they leave, she offers them food and water and gives Samantha a goodbye hug.
• The scene towards the end with the two monsters: rather than getting down into a Kaiju-style building-smashing duel, the pair instead perform what is quite possibly a mating ritual, slowly exchanging displays of their bioluminescence and making specific calls before departing together. The scene shows that the monsters, while big and scary and potentially dangerous, are not inherently malicious and are as capable of affection and patience as any earth animal, even humans.
