Heartwarming / Hatarakanai Futari

• Most flashbacks to the siblings childhood showed several instances of Mamoru saving Haruko, special mention to the time he saves her from deadly wasps at the risk of his life, their father is so grateful he bows to him in gratitude for saving his daughter.
• Mamoru and Endou wingman for Maruyama during a mixer, he hits it off with one of the girls and they walk alone to her home when she comments that he shouldn't associate with NEE Ts. The hearwarming part comes when Maruyama defends Mamoru even if he isn't there to hear it and their date ends on a sour note. Bonus points, when asked by Mamoru why he failed to get her number he makes an excuse about "popping a stiffy" to protect his friend's feelings.
• It goes both ways, as Mamoru gets angry on Maruyama's behalf when their mixer dates mock him for being unavailable for a future group date as it's his mom's birthday that day. Their dates leave due to the awkward atmosphere. Later on Maruyama remembers his mom's birthday was on a different date. This was one of the few times Mamoru loses his chill.
• When Togawa finally discovers who bought the only copy of her self published novel, this arc spans several volumes:
  • Togawa attends a Doujinshi event and attempts to sell her self published novel, while away on a bathroom break Mamoru buys a copy.
  • Togawa is understandably discouraged by the one sale but finds that the book review blog she follows gave it a glowing review, resparking her passion to write.
  • She eventually relents to her boss to meet his son as he knows they'll hit it off because of their common interest in literature.Turns out the boss's son is Mamoru, they do hit it off, but she doesn't know he bought her novel (it was on loan to Kuraki at the time)
  • She quits her job when she notes that Mamoru is much more talented than her and wants to "catch up" to where he is so they can be partners, she hands Haruko a copy of her novel to give to him.
  • Mamoru finds her one day, she's close to burning out as she's focused only on writing, he convinces her to take a more relaxed pace and they start to hangout.
  • on one of their hangouts he returns the novel she gave to Haruko saying he already bought one in the past. Togawa is so overcome with emotion it's the only time she doesn't have a deadpan face.
• On that note, the reaction of Inamori (Mamoru and Togawa's mutual friend and also Endou's girfriend) when Togawa is able to sell multiple copies of her second self published novel (thanks to her improved writing skills and the review blog Mamoru maintains).
• Maruyama choosing to have ramen with Takeda (plain, messy haired) instead of the last minute invite of Sakuraba for drinks (conventionally pretty) because they already made a commitment to go together. Takeda was sure she'd be passed over in favor of the pretty girl as usual, but was over the moon when Maruyama chose her.
• Really any special multi page chapter at the end of every volume is guaranteed to be heartwarming.

• when Akane happens to meet Haruko's mom she initially says she works as an office lady, but feels it's wrong to lie to the parent of the one friend who doesn't judge her, so she recants and admits she's a callgirl at a pub/gentleman's club. Mrs. Ishi doesn't judge her at all and  even jokes that she should teach Haruko a thing or two about communication skills.
