Moment pages never use spoiler tagging — so beware of unmarked spoilers
There's an emphasis on good sportsmanship between the contenders and Gladiators (unless they're Legend or Viper), which can lead to some really sweet moments.
In the first season's first episode, Finley injures his knee during "Gauntlet". After the referees stop the game the Gladiators he was facing are all seen giving him encouraging pats on the back to make sure he's okay. After some rest he's able to recover enough to win "The Eliminator", and is seen encouraging the crowd to cheer for his opponent Myles as he completes the course.
One of the male contenders from the first season's second episode is John, who reveals he survived a bout of leukemia in his youth that left him temporarily unable to walk. During the interview after their round of "The Edge", Apollo speaks for everyone who lost someone to leukemia and congratulates John for his recovery.
In the Grand Final of the first season the Gladiators (save the injured Comet and Sabre) are lined up at the sides of the entrance when the contenders are brought into the arena. Seeing them fistbump and high-five the finalists is a touching celebration of the effort they put in to make it this far. Doubles as a homage to the 90s show, where the contenders would run out with cheerleaders G-Force positioned in a similar way.
Also in the first season's Grand Final, after his Duel with Finley Giant pointing out to everyone that Saracen was in the crowd, leading to the latter giving his trademark finger point.
