In Issue 13, after struggling with a large amount of guilt and self torment over being more temperamentally suited to the typically violent and vengeful Sword of Might versus the Captain Britain Amulet of Right, Brian finds new purpose when he fields the Sword righteously in defence of his brother King Jamie, bringing honour to the weapon and becoming a new hero, Captain Avalon.
Issue 19: "Wild Violets." Betsy, having been separated from her body due to the events of X of Swords, is in so much emotional pain from believing that she lost and from all of her previous failures that she refuses to return to her own body. Running away to Otherworld, she is pursued by Kwannon of all people...and Kwannon tells her that their body swap (of which Betsy still feels guilty about) was done to them, not by them.
Kwannon: The terrible things between us have been done to us! That is not who we are. Not who we could be. Betsty:I didn't ask you to come here! Leave me be! I am defeated! I failed! Again and again! I have had enough! Let me rest! Kwannon: You want me to be afraid of you so I leave you alone—it won't work! You're just a woman. A proud, stubborn mutant woman, like me. Betsy: Do I have to hurt you like I hurt myself?! Kwannon:You come and try.[telepathically] Whatever it takes to get you in range.
And then Kwannon pulls Betsy's spirit into herself and carries her back to Krakoa, telling her that she actually won and restored the Captain Britain Corps and that they will be forever linked. It's a moment of respite and happiness for both Betsy and Kwannon, who have both suffered so much.
