Headscratchers / Wario Land II

  • Why did the pirates decide to leave behind an annoyingly loud alarm clock to wake Wario up? Why didn't they just steal the treasure, leave the tap running and just leave with the treasure before Wario woke up and discovered he had been robbed long after the pirates had stolen it? Not to mention the clock was a massive clue for Wario to who was behind the robbery of his castle due the clock having a skull on it which is the pirates' main insignia. Seriously were the pirates just asking Wario to come and give chase after them?
    • Possibly, the alarm clock is meant to serve as a distraction, so the pirates can get a head start while Wario wastes his time trying to turn it off. The skull face is not an issue, considering the castle is already infested with pirates when Wario wakes up.
    • I always assumed the alarm clock was Wario's, and the pirates just moved it so that he wouldn't wake up while they were ransacking the castle.
  • In the first chapter, why does Wario have to recover coins and treasure from inside his own castle?
    • Enemies will steal the loot if he doesn't take it? After all, doesn't he leave the castle after Chapter 1? Better to take it with you, especially if you have bottomless pockets.
  • What happens to Wario's treasure in the "Invade Wario Castle" ending? The treasure is stolen in the intro, but the pirates are never seen leaving the castle with it, nor is Wario seen claiming it back at the end.
    • Presumably they just kept it in the castle once they decided to take over the place.
