At the end of the story, he suggests that they take £10 Billion from the gold bars to pay for schools and hospitals as most the world thinks that all the gold is gone. How on Earth does this work? Just because £100 Billion in gold has apparently been lost doesn't mean that the UK no longer owes the EU that £100 Billion, surely?
