    Earth beliefs

  • If the prehistory humans killed the gods and suppressed knowledge of their existence why are there still mythologies on Earth?
    • There are two definitions of the word "gods" being used. One refers to the real gods, the gaggle of aliens worshipped by the Syndicate. The second refers to fake gods, such as Zeus/Persephone/Artemis, which are harmless inventions of folklore. The God Hunters didn't need to censor the latter type of "god", because it was so different from the former.

    The Syndicate's preferences

  • Why does the Syndicate want to resurrect the dead gods on Earth when there are apparently other gods that they can communicate with, like Damned Harmony?
    • The dead gods can be communicated with; they're not dead in the human sense, they still exist. In response to your question, the Syndicate aren't completely crazy: they know that some gods are more dangerous than others, and obviously prioritize the "nicer" ones to be resurrected first. (Presumably, after Damned Harmony's attempt to murder Crying Grudge and undo the Syndicate's hard work, he got kicked to the back of the line.) It seems the Syndicate were a bunch of unrelated individuals who worshipped different gods before the Great Betrayal forced them to form a group, so agreeing to resurrect all gods was probably the best compromise they could've come up with.

    Timeline etymology

  • How could members of the Syndicate like Lady Love Dies be born in A.D. if the Great Betrayal happened in pre-history?
    • The Syndicate isn't static, it occasionally accepts new members. Lady is actually young compared to most of her comrades, and in some of Doom Jazz's interludes he tells her about stuff the Syndicate did before she joined.
