- Why does Adam say "Don't try this at home" before he eats when you can go to those restaurants and pay for eating that?
- Because you should go out to that restaurant and do it, so that the restaurant makes money. There is a certain advertising element in shows like this.
- He advises against doing the challenges themselves, but nothing's stopping you from buying a more modest/normal dish.
- It's possible he's trying not to set himself up as a role model, or at least avert blame from people inspired by him to take on competitive eating challenges.
