The Burning Neighbors, how did they know?

  • How did Sam and Maggie not know about the neighborhoods being burned? Especially if their neighborhood was next on the list? The had to have seen MASSIVE fires burning and smelled it. So why were they so surprised when they were leaving their neighborhood and saw the burnings?

What about the Childfree?

  • How does the mysterious government control anyone who doesn't have kids? Do they just kill all non-reproducers outright?
    • A lot of people who don't have kids have loved ones who do, so some of them might be controlled with threats to nephews/nieces/friends' kids/etc. Not all, though.
    • In the Season 3 opener, it’s implied that childless people were the first to be eliminated. Childless Gina was able to quickly team up with single dad Chris and be saved.

Where did the Green Ooze come from and what is it?

  • What on EARTH is the green ooze? How did it get in there? Seeing Officer Tom’s body implies that the cat heads are filled with biological material rather than merely being bulky helmets with surveillance - what, why, and how?
    • Skin against any material for long enough will rot, or at the very least chafe severely and become unhealthy. Is this taken into account with the helmet, which may be more biological than is let on? Is it ignored, and the ooze is a result of swollen, rotting, infected flesh? Or is it something completely different and the issue of skin being unable to breathe is ignored for narrative purposes?

How do they put on clothes?

  • How does everyone get clothes on over the helmets? Do T-shirts and other pull-on clothing have hidden buttons?
    • A bigger question is "Can you even take the hemets off?"

Lakeview seems nice, sorta....

  • Why does everyone in Lakeview talk more openly than in the suburbs? Maggie and Sam state at one point that Mayor Laura takes measures to protect the privacy of the Lakeview residents on the boats, but there are still plenty of moments where the characters make plans and talk about their feelings in areas that seem dangerous to do so.
