Headscratchers / Dr. Phil

  • There was an episode where someone described basically having a textbook case of Bipolar disorder. manic episodes where he feels he can do everything, followed by depressive episodes where he feels he can't even get out of bed. Literally anyone who even google searches can get an idea this person is probably bipolar and should be evaluated. Dr. Phil says his problem is that he's lazy. Dr. Phil has a doctorate in clinical psychology. And he missed this? HOW?!
    • Because he chose to be a TV star rather than a real psychologist. Phil hasn't been licensed to practice since 2006, and telling people that their mental health issues are their own fault gets better ratings than actually helping them.
