Because Satan held a grudge against them for helping Johnny/Harry evade him for all those years. They all participated in the ritual, and/or helped Johnny/Harry conceal his identity. As a bonus, it adds to Johnny/Harry's psychological torment.
How was Epiphany involved in the ritual? She was what? Five years old at the time?
