• The whole opening scene, where the stingy and old-fashioned Dean Higgins calls himself a proponent of progress for spending money on the most basic and common electrical appliances (and live frogs for biology class), and the students eavesdrop on the meeting with a microphone. Then he gets to the topic of the students being placed on academic probation. When Schuyler celebrates how Higgins skipped over him, Dexter actually asks, "What about Schuyler?" into the microphone, and Dean Higgins thinks one of the regents said that and agrees that he's on probation too.
• The whole feud between Dean Higgins and his Always Someone Better rival, Dean Collingswood of State University, including their bickering when they're both arrested in a gambling raid they followed Dexter to and Higgins accusing Collingswood of kidnapping Dexter in the final act.
• When Collingswood plots to steal Dexter from Medfield, he decides that he'll get better recruitment strategies from his football class than any of his Ivy League genius classroom instructors.
