• Hannay has escaped from a man trap, driven over the mountains, crashed his car, walked back over the mountains via an icy pass in the middle of a blizzard, returned to the villain's lair, and he's just in time to see the villain's defeat.
  Blenkiron [genuinely unaware Hannay is listening] I'm not just exactly sure where Dick is at the moment, but I opine he's in Italy.
  Hannay: [kicks down the screen he was hiding behind] I'm back.
  Blenkiron: Why, Dick, this is mighty opportune. How in creation did you get here?
  Hannay: I walked.
