• When Noob Saibot wins a round, the announcer (Kahn) doesn't actually say his name. Instead, he says "Feel the power of" followed by a scream of "Toasty!"^note The Super Nintendo version kind of ruins the joke by instead having Kahn say "You will die, mortal!" followed by Forden's "Toasty!" It's difficult to say what the new punchline was supposed to be, though it's worth pointing out that this version omits "Feel the power of SHAO KAHN!" altogether, so something had to be done.
• The gruesome spiked ceiling stage fatality quickly turns hilarious if your luckless opponent then slides off the spikes and falls back down with an awkward yell.
• Due to a Good Bad Bug, if you are playing as Johnny and time it just right when the opponent Shang Tsung changes into a female fighter, he will endlessly flail forever until you hit him again.
