Fridge Logic
- Whose LEAF suit are you wearing, and how did it come to be where you found it? It's Edwin's. The vehicle crashed while they were taking it and all records relating to the sabotage to be put into storage, and you found it.
- This becomes Fridge Brilliance when you finally destroy Astra. Edwin did finally get Astra destroyed, if only indirectly, thanks to the Protagonist getting and using their L.E.A.F. suit to finish what he and Virginia started.
Fridge Horror
- Why are the daemons so friendly? The suggestion offered by the characters in-game is that they have no natural predators. That's not quite right. They are the predators, and you are their natural prey.
- Later on in the game, around the time you find out about Virginia' and Edwin's attempt to sabotage the project, you start seeing blood stains around the place as if someone injured has been dragged around — especially in Virginia's office, and the place where Edwin was detained. The implication is that they got caught and were roughed up. In reality, the bloodstains were created when the wendigos attacked and dragged everyone — researchers, workers, other staff alike — down into the alpha wendigo's nest.
- The reason why the entire facility met its fate when it fell to the wendigos was because all the LEAF suits had been put away. Without the Pathfinders to fight the wendigos the way you could, they didn't stand a chance. And because of the isolation, everyone who knew about the project was present on the premises — and died. No one ever knew where they were, or what happened to them, until you came along.
- The wearers of the LEAF suit only die in one reality when they die, right? And simply are transported to another reality where they didn't die? Imagine all the realities where the loved ones of the archaeologist you're playing never see you again...
- Related: did you die at any point between finding the Lifeseed and destroying the Astra Facility? If so, then congratulations! You've doomed the Earth where you died to total extinction!
