The movie could be seen as an homage to Hitchcock films.
it’s about a man being forced to become an Action Survivor after being put in an unexpected dangerous situation. of course it was all part of the game, but he did not know that as that was part of the point of the game.
there are many twists and turns and lots of suspense.
the female lead is a blonde femme fatale. Again she actually isn’t, but that’s not revealed until the very end
One of the big criticisms of the film was that all the contingencies could not have been possibly planned by CRS creating a pretty massive plot hole. But Hitchcock himself would hand wave similar situations by simply pointing out that an audience will think about how illogical a situation might be later, but they’re not thinking about it while they’re watching it.
