• Shinnosuke is named as such because of Sukeroku's name back when he was a kid - Shin (note the "-nosuke" part is often a name ending for boys' first names). Konatsu loves her dad so much she named her son after him.
• In this same vein, Sukeroku tells Kikuhiko that Konatsu was so named because she was born in summer, and it would have been different depending on the season, such as Koharu for spring. Yota and Konatsu's daughter is named Koyuki, suggesting she was born in winter. Finally, when Konatsu is at last able to become a storyteller in her own right, Yota reveals that she intends to take the name Yurakutei Kosukeroku.
