Why is Ace's Haki stronger than Dorrow's, even though the former has no training and the other is trained? Simple, Haki is willpower, and Ace said "Your Haki cannot extinquish the flames of rage!" while Dorrow bragged about how it can surpass Devil Fruits. The Vice Admiral misused Haki, he saw it as just a tool to fight. Ace's willpower meant he, and not Dorrow, used Haki right.
