• Kobayashi's sacrifice against Godzilla leads to the protagonists coming to the realization that they can bury the giant reptile in ice in order to stop him. Seven years later, however, well within the protagonists' lifespans, Godzilla gets out and in movie after movie just through the Showa era alone causes widespread destruction and death. What must Kobayashi's friends and colleagues be thinking every time Godzilla makes the news?
