  • It may seem strange how Lord Farquaad and Grand Master Oogway, who died in their respective first films, are present in the game...until you remember that the Spirit Realm is a track in the game, which possibly means that Oogway was somehow able to cross over to the living world, with Farquaad following suit.
  • All the DreamWorks characters with ties to dragons have dragon-styled go-karts: Donkey with his wife Dragon, Hiccup and Astrid who rode dragons, and Po the Dragon Warrior.
  • Why is Galactic Sky the track Megamind is unlocked in rather than any Megamind-related tracks? Those who watched the movie will remember that Megamind came from a planet that was sucked into a black hole, which cements his galactic origin.
  • Most of the boss races have the player controlling a character from the same universe as the boss in question (Theodore to Tina, Mr. Wolf to Diane Foxington, Alex to King Julien, Bridget to King Gristle, and Shrek to Lord Farquaad). The sole exception is Megamind, where the player controls Diane Foxington instead. Considering Diane helped redeem Mr. Wolf in her home movie, it can be said that she's standing in for Roxanne Richi, who redeemed Megamind the same way.
  • Megamind is a surprising inclusion, given that his movie - unlike the other series represented in-game - was a Stillborn Franchise that only had one instalment when the game came out. But when you consider the announcement of the Megamind vs. The Doom Syndicate DTV movie and Megamind Rules! TV series a few months later, it's entirely possible that the developers knew they were in production at the time and threw him in to promote them, justifying his inclusion after all.
  • The Wolf sharing DLC with Grand Master Oogway makes even more sense once you realize that Oogway had died in the first film, and is presented as a spirit in its future works, and Wolf is the physical personification of Death.
