Authors and Websites

General Fics
Stories focused on the family and the friendly relationships of the cast. Plot-focused stories or light day-in-the-life stories. Pretty much anything that isn't focused on romance.

Proverbs 31:29 By Fox

  • Recommended by Bee 123
  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: "Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all." John Blythe doesn´t marry Marilla.
  • Characters: Marilla Cuthbert, Rachel Lynde, John Blythe
  • Comments: warning for homophobia. Recomment for the beautiful inside look into Marilla and the kind of community that the place really is.

Spring Fish By Missy

  • Recommended by Bee 123
  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: "Anne and Diana, even with their fears and regrets, are still irrepressible, even at the age of seventy. And Anne? She still dreams."
  • Characters: Anne Shirley, Diana Barry,
  • Comments: warning for reference to canon child death. mainstream media has the tendency to omit female character that do not fit the very strict form of "attractive" and part of that mold is age, so it is refreshing and comforting/sweet to read about older female characters still doing their stuff.

Shipping Fics
Stories focused on the romantic relationships between the cast.

Anything but tenderness By breathedout

  • Recommended by Bee 123
  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: Rachel falls in love with Marilla's laughter.
  • Characters: Rachel Lynde, Marilla Cuthbert
  • Pairing: Marilla Cuthbert/Rachel Lynde
  • Comments: It's a very slow burn that feels true to the time period, characters and the place they are in their lives at that moment and despite the title it is very tender and respectful in that.
