The Land of Song and Dance
is a My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic fan fic written by Aestroch Noral as a method of improving her storytelling abilities. The story is told by the main character, Alan Dehis, who is from a completely different universe where war is the norm, and few people bother to pay attention to the local wildlife. Alan was one of those few, a Warden of a herd of deer, his task is to protect the deer from predators and poachers. He failed in his duty, and was exiled by his god to wander until her wasn't able to retrace his steps. His wandering led him to the magical world of Hasbria, home to the Ponies of Equestria and their neighboring countries.
While in Equestria, Alan meets with Fluttershy and agrees to become a Warden for her, and embarks on the task of getting Fluttershy a mate, and protecting her herd from those that would break it apart.
The Land of Song and Dance Contains examples of the following tropes:
- Combat Pragmatist: Alan in his second fight with the Timberwolves. By his thoughts, he downed five wolves in the space of a minute or two.
- CurbStomp Battle: Alan completely wrecks any Timberwolves that try to attack him
- Deadpan Snarker: Alan, especially when faced with Ponies that don't like him.
- Physical Goddess: Alan thinks that Princess Celestia is a manifestation of his people's sun goddess, Somae. Celestia all but confirms this when she promises to speak to him about it later.
