  • While "Dance With You" falls mostly into Heartwarming or even Tear-Jerker territory, the final chorus (which Emma sings alone after Alyssa has been forced to leave) definitely counts. Special mention goes to whoever is playing Emma (Caitlin Kinnunen, or understudies Gabi Campo and Brittany Zeinstra) for sustaining the final note of the song for that length of time.
  • The entirety of "Tonight Belongs To You" but special mention goes to the ensemble's energetic and athletic dance break which is followed immediately by singing (while still dancing). That's no easy feat, especially 8 times a week!
  • Angie teaching Emma about the concept of "Zazz", which gives her the confidence she needs to take a stand.
  • "The Lady's Improving" is this for Dee Dee and, by extent, her actress Beth Leavel.
  • Seeing Emma come into her own and take a stand by writing and singing "Unruly Heart" qualifies as this, as does the song subsequently going viral.
  • Alyssa finally being able to stand up to her mother.
Mrs Greene: Come on, we're going to end this now.
Alyssa: No! I'm not going with you. I don't wanna be any part of your shit anymore! [storms offstage]
  • Barry's reaction to Mrs Greene's attempts to shut down the second prom, doubling as a funny moment.
Barry: This prom is happening. And there's nothing you, or your flying monkeys, can do about it.
  • Alyssa's whole coming out speech. Here is a girl who has been terrified of what her mother will do once she finds out she's a lesbian, but by the end of the show she finds the courage to openly be herself despite the fear. Seeing her boldly declare her love for Emma in front of everyone is, without a doubt, completely awesome.
  • The creation of the second prom itself. During the first half of "It's Time To Dance", the ensemble are hard at work transforming the stage ready for the prom to take place. Interspersed with moments that allow the entire cast to stagger quick changes into their prom outfits offstage, from the moment the kids burst into the dance the number kicks up a gear and never looks back.
  • Emma and Alyssa walking into the prom hand in hand, just like they dreamed of. It's a moment that never fails to get a cheer from the audience.
  • Seeing the entire cast dancing onstage together during "It's Time To Dance" qualifies, as does The Big Damn Kiss between Emma and Alyssa at the end. Combined with the lights, and the music, and the dancing, that moment has been described as purely epic.
  • Trent calling the bullies out in "Love Thy Neighbor" when they try to claim they are merely following the Bible in their denouement of Emma and gay people in general. Trent, however, points out that there are plenty of things they do that the bible also forbids, such as getting tattoos, premarital sex, divorce (or in their cases, having divorced parents), and masturbation and that, no, they aren't "good Christians", they're hypocritical assholes who are bullying a girl simply because she's different.
