** A meta one too, Naomi Scott actually cut off her hair during this scene.

* The fact that in one movie, Power Rangers has beaten both Marvel and DC to the punch on a number of things:
** Billy being the first explicitly stated autistic superhero. The movie doesn't make any kind of big deal about this and he's an equal hero with the rest of the team. With all the other groups get demands for increased representation in entertainment, the neuro-atypical got pretty lost in the shuffle, but then this film comes out of nowhere with a great example of how to do it.
** Trini is the first LGBT superhero to be on the big screen. While an argument could be made for Deadpool since Creator/RyanReynolds has stated that the character is still pansexual in the movie, he only shows interest in his girlfriend. An argument could also be made that Trini is actually going through a normal teenage phase where she is questioning her sexuality and may not be LGBT at all. Either way, it did make history of a superhero questioning their sexuality.
** The diversity of the film as a whole. This is one of the few movies to have a majority of the cast/characters be non-white. Of the five heroes, only Jason is white. Going by the actor's ethnicity: Kimberly is Indian-Caucasian, Zack is Chinese-Caucasian, Trini is Latina, and Billy is African-American. Or by what's on screen, Jason's white, Trini is half-Asian (Vietnamese?), Zack is Chinese, and Billy is black. Kimberley's parents are only seen at a distance so you'd be forgiven for assuming they're Caucasian, but in fact only her father is Caucasian while her mother is played by an actress who is Indian and British Canadian.
*** The fact they took the risk in casting new or unknown actors for the leading roles, Dacre Montgomery in particular since this is his first acting job, and while Becky G has no doubt been on sets for her various music videos, this is her first big-time acting gig, too.
* Seeing Creator/JasonDavidFrank in a green shirt during a crowd scene. Even if Rita has the Green Power Coin, there's only ONE person any fan wants to see wearing green in this film, and they got it.
** On a similar note seeing him onscreen with Creator/AmyJoJohnson for the first time in quite a while. The fact she's wearing a light shade of pink herself just makes it better.
* The credits acknowledge not only the classic Saban show but Super Sentai equally, even though it uses no Japanese footage. It's one of the few times in the franchise's history that it recognizes its Japanese roots.
* The cast stating that if a Green Ranger is added to their team, they want them to be a female.
** Among the people batting for Tommy Oliver to be a girl in the remake universe... Even Tommy HIMSELF has shown approval!
* Even though it was only used for two scenes they had a linguist create the Eltarian language.
** While Creator/BryanCranston and Creator/BillHader had trouble with it, Creator/ElizabethBanks apparently learned it well enough that she was essentially fluent.
* There's already a sequel in comic book form! Boom Studios, the released a direct sequel to the movie, titled Power Rangers: Aftershock. Even if the Hasbro purchase does indeed trigger a reboot, at least there was some sort of true follow-up.

Added DiffLines:

** Points to the teens as well - they knew going in they’d be outclassed and easily beaten by Rita, since she’s so casually tossed Trini around in her room, but they go in anyway, because even if they hate the town and the people in it, they weren’t going to just stand back and let her destroy everything.
