• And then Marci manages to re-bind Ghost into a mutually beneficial contract, rather than enslaving him or letting him enslave her.
• Julius pulls the Sixth Fang of the Heartstriker, the Fang that no one in his family has managed to pull in a thousand years. The resultant burst of magic burns out his seal in a single burst, and by the time he lands he's a dragon again.
• How does Estella finally die? Katya, her youngest sister who she always dismissed as a failure and ignored even as she kept her captive, jumps in and bites her throat out.
  Katya: Hear me! To save our clan and to preserve what remains of our good relations with Heartstriker, I have killed Estella the Northern Star! Now, by right of combat, I claim her place as head of the Daughters of the Three Sisters.
