  • How do you nuke an alien factory surrounded by an impenetrable force field before it gets replaced with a bigger, even more impenetrable force field? It's obvious to The Cat - hide the nukes outside the original force field, so they'll be inside the bigger one!
  • Melanie is trapped on a riverboat with a seriously wetwired assassin. Comms are down, no rescue is coming. He corners her in a hallway. She pulls the fire alarm. As the bells blare and the sprinklers soak them. He is so busy taunting her - nobody's going to hear that over the music! - that he doesn't notice the overloaded cattle prod in a puddle next to him. ZAP!
  • Paula Myo, Mellanie, and Hoshe in the same train cabin. Three valuable enemies, totally exposed. A perfect target, thinks Starflyer agent Isabella Halgarth. Too bad it's a trap - the second she walks in, the Restraining Bolt cage closes!
  • Ozzie figures out to communicate with a seemingly mute alien
  • The Starflyer lets its enemies follow it to Half Way. Why? So it can wreck the wormholes on both sides, trapping them for a slow death on a wasteland death world!
  • The Planet's Revenge: a human-tamed storm so powerful that it wrecks a Sufficiently Advanced alien starship (and insta-erodes three mountains into a new desert). And the people who made it happen...
    • Stig's blimpbots obliterating a whole plaza of Institute goons and tanks them with a huge bomb! This delays the Starflyer long enough for...
    • The blockade-busting force of Guardians and friends to catch up to an intact wormhole generator instead of a trashed one...
    • Which they hotwire to open elsewhere, avoiding the inevitable choke point ambush
    • At the last minute, Paula figures out who The Mole is, allowing...
    • Oscar to thwart them with a kamikaze Heroic Sacrifice
    • And Wilson to go out with a hell of a last flight, delivering the instruments after dragging himself from his shattered cockpit on shattered legs
    • Bradley Johanson bluffs the Starflyer into hesitating in its launch just long enough for the storm to arrive!
