  • "Raw Terror" manages to (for once) avert Spoiled by the Format by not cutting to interviews with Damion Heersink until right after it's revealed he pulled through. It doesn't sound like much, but it's a rare moment of genuine suspense.
  • "Bitter Potion" has the FBI outsmart the killer who is a member of MENSA by getting an agent to earn his trust for a year then convince him to rent the house to her when he moves to a new area. Since she owns the property now, she consents to search and seizure of the property, giving the investigators all the evidence needed to put him behind bars.
  • "Bag of Evidence" concerns a case for which Noel Roberts, the quality assurance engineer at a garbage bag factory, provided the most vital testimony. He's brought in for interviews and B-roll, and is overall treated with as much dignity as the forensic researchers and arresting officers.
  • Brittany Hinson, the youngest survivor in "Fire Dot Com," knows she's on TV, and plays it up for all it's worth like only a little kid can—and the show plays along! Special mention goes to them not only keeping in her lengthy aside about briefly seeing heaven, but preparing a montage to go with.
  • In "Picture This", Doug Mouser's attorney is defiant to the end:
Richard Herman: They didn't theorize [bleep]! Excuse me—they didn't theorize [bleep]! I'll say that on the screen, I'd even say that in a courtroom.
  • "Freedom Fighter" is all about how Roy Brown proved he'd been set up for a case of arson and murder. His pride in himself is self-evident from the interview segments and B-roll, and as the episode itself shows, it was entirely earned.
