PP Chapter 4: Spike the Christian Dragon

Written By: Ebony
POV: Third person

The Prayer Ponies are in the middle of playing a Christian board game when Pinkie Pie arrives, announcing her conversion. They're glad to hear that Pinkie Pie will also go to pony heaven when she dies, and include her in their game as a way to explain Christianity.

Essentially, the game works like a board game, but the objective is to convert towns to Christianity. Success or failure is determined by the rolls of the dice, as are whether the town kills the player for trying to convert them and failing, or whether God kills the town to avenge the player's murder. The game seems too convoluted and based on chance to be very enjoyable, although the rules about conversion do give some idea of the Prayer Warriors' worldview (save for the part in which the dead missionaries come back to life with no explanation; the game has the Prayer Warriors roll up new characters).

They play the game until Spike arrives, furious at the others for converting to Christianity, and deciding to "unfriend" them, his face turning red out of anger. Twilight bluntly tells him that she will not change her mind for him, but still offers to be his friend, in stark contrast to how Percy Jackson killed his own brother for not converting. Spike, however, is angry that an atheist is even being nice to him, and starts breathing fire (with God protecting the house) and making blasphemous comments, until God non-fatally strikes him with a Bolt of Divine Retribution. Spike immediately sees the error of his ways, converts and is forgiven by Twilight, who lets him join the game.

That's two individuals (a pony and a dragon) converted through divine intervention and only one through effort. Perhaps the makers of the board game were right, and converting people is a matter of luck.

Next Installment: Fluttershy proves unwilling to talk to the others, much less convert, and this time, God isn't helping out.
