BWTW Chapter 17: Three Funerals and a Wedding

Written By: Thomas
POV: Third person.

The chapter begins with another exchange between Thomas and Jesus, with Thomas announcing that with three keys found by now, the fic will end soon, and he'll start work on A Kingdom Under Shadow and The Evil Gods Part 2.

As Michael eats a steak for dinner (pointedly mentioning how he considers bacon "disgusting filthy shit"), Ebony comes in and drops off the keys, making sure her hair does not come unpinned.

A random reference to Corinthians 11:56 comes up, the first random Bible verse in a while.

Michael, taking his hat off for some reason, asks if Ebony succeeded in her task. Ebony says yes, apparently considering Michael her "master," and says she's proud of herself for murdering two young teenagers for being homosexuals. She says that Dumbledore and the other Satanists are burying them, and she cannot wait to exhume and desecrate their corpses for the sake of sending a message to the enemy.

Michael gets out of his chair and stands up to be higher than Ebony, with the narration saying that because Eve, the first woman, was created from Adam's rib (supported with a verse from Genesis without the chapter and verse numbers), all women should be submissive to men. The blatant sexism of this aside, this doesn't make sense. First, it's somewhat impractical to have the higher-status individual get up to retain the height advantage; usually, it's served by putting tht individual up on a dais or forcing the lower status ones to kneel in their superiors' presene. Second, people in Michael's position could arguably assert their superiority over people in Ebony's position by making the latter group stand while they sit.

But even if he's a misogynist who thinks of Ebony as little more than a slave, Michael recognizes Ebony's assistance, as well as (at least for the moment) her being equal to the males and has decided to reward her. Ebony simply asks for the right to marry Draco, going on about some metaphor involving planting trees that presumably relates to having children. Incidentally, Draco is never consulted about this, although in practice, it isn't all that much of a problem, given how quickly they got together.

After taking a minute to consider this, Michael says yes and Ebony, grateful, decides to marry Draco immediately. Michael, however, has another job for her. He knows that Hermione has the fourth key. He mentions that she knows Harry, since she was at his funeral, and rumor has it that she has sex with Dumbledore, "the fucking paedophile." Not only does this disregard how Dumbledore is gay, but this chapter has an unusually high amount of profanity. Ebony is thus tasked with obtaining Hermione's key, killing her if necessary, once she marries Draco and consummates her marriage, with Michael's tone fairly brusque and commanding.

In an underground extension of Hagrid's hut (the author seems to switch between calling his residence a house and a hut), Ebony and Draco get married, with Hagrid somehow having the authority to authorize a marriage.

Draco and Ebony have their wedding ceremony, which is cut down to the vows, which themselves are boiled down to the bare minimum, and the bride's side are omitted. Given how much is cut out, they might as well have had it happen off-screen.

Draco and Ebony then kiss, and go to consummate their marriage. The following then happens.

"Draco and Ebony removed skin from an onion. After that, they put Draco`s noodles into Ebony`s bowl, and Draco then planted some seeds into Ebony`s pot, and then they laid on their bed for the rest the night."

There's authors who skimp on some of the details in sex scenes, there's IKEA Erotica and then there's this.

Songs 5:4-5 and 4:5 follow.

The next day, Ebony visits Hermione in her room, catching her in the process of putting on her makeup. The act disgusts Ebony so much that she vomits inside her mouth but swallows the vomit to avoid being caught (which is truly disgusting).

Ebony gets straight to the point and demands that Hermione give her the key lest she end up dead. Apparently having learned from what happened to her friends, Hermione surrenders the key and asks to become a Prayer Warrior.

Ebony takes Hermione to Hagrid's hut, telling Michael that Ebony wants to convert and asking for permission to baptize her. Michael, however, gets angry at a woman having the gall to ask this, and declares that he will do it. He reluctantly baptizes Hermione, making it clear that he still thinks she's a "satanic bitch" and is only doing it because Ebony vouched for her.

Thomas is proud of this chapter, and says that the fic will end in three more.

Next Installment: In spite of only having four out of five keys, the Prayer Warriors face Dumbledore in a final showdown.
