BWTW Chapter 14: Prayers, Plans, Portals and Predictions

Written By: Thomas
POV: Michael

Michael is momentarily shocked by Draco's outburst and storming out over what he claims is Ebony planning on making friends with Harry. When Draco doesn't come back that night, Michael decides not to worry about it, a surprisingly lax attitude considering that non-believers suffer punishments ranging from whippings to being stoned to death in front of their schoolmates to being blown up in the bathroom, and it's possible that this might be the last time he sees Draco alive. Michael prays for God to protect Ebony, and makes her the first female Prayer Warrior, forgetting about Clarisse, Rachel, Mary, Ruth and all the other Prayer warriors, to say nothing of Ebony herself being one already.

There's another Latin prayer, one vaguely relevant to Ebony's mission. Here it is with spaces added

Hoc mulierum benedi centur in te similitu dinem
Ita que potest quod tegebatur tua christ
Peccabit que sed illi in magna omnium nostrum
Post

Cum aeterni judicii fit in vigesimo sexto Julii
Mitte tur cæ lum sicut vere fidelis erat enim bona
Iesum

Vos mos servo in e bur die iudicii quod prope diem
Gaudete eris unus multorum salvus essetum
Sed memento, multi ex laederene vos credere

Cum potesta te data est mihi a Domini Saluatoris
Uni genitus Deus solus de Jesu Christi historia
ita sapient eruti
Tu semper mulieribus in obtinuit ita benedicere. Amen.

Translated into English:

This similarity between the women bless you refer
Thus, we can see that which was protected with thy Christ
But they will sin and all of us in great
After

When the eternal judgment is made on the twenty sixth of July
Send it as a true believer, for he was a good chance of heav

But she will not sin, nor sleep from the
indulgences to share a bed in the

No one understands it to send me into the pits —>of hell and heaven
God is a just man, and forgiveness, and he shall understand the causes of

If only you could have the benefit of owners and allowed three trial
You will keep in burgess from that near the —>time of the day of judgment

You'll be glad you were one of the many safe
But remember, many of you believe, harm

When you power of the Saviour was given to me from the Lord's
One of the only begotten of God, Jesus Christ, the history of
so wise, being rescued
You always got the women in such a blessing. Amen.

Again, this is through Google Translate, so I'm not sure about a lot o this, especially the "three trial" and "keep in burgess" parts.

With the prayer finished, Michael sends Ebony on her way. Hagrid soon informs Michael that Jerry wants to see him, and is at Hagrid's house. Hagrid asks Michael to see Jerry soon, since he doesn't have long to stay; it must be quite dangerous going to an enemy's school without a cover story.

Michael arrives at Hagrid's house (which Michael insists is not a hut) and finds Jerry there. Michael informs Jerry that things are not going according to plan, spontaneously slipping into Latin (I think he's saying " Read to believe greeting read prayers to say, I believe.") Jerry informs Michael of a portal to another world in the library, which Michael apparently somehow missed in his prior investigations.

The author says that he'll leave off for the day, and work on another Prayer Warriors story, "A Kingdom Under Shadow." He then reminds us that the world will end on July 26, and leaves us with the following words in Latin; "To forgive, forgive. He feels the need to be punished. Never to mock the Lord."

Next Installment: Michael finds the first key in a place where he should already have looked.
