Well, guys, this is it. I do apologize for not only the shortness of this liveblog, but the fact that I haven't put forth much effort...and when I did, it seemed forced to me. Unfortunately, creative slumps and writer's block will do it to you. Hopefully...hopefully...I can regain my ability to snark and stuff after this, for I do have a few other planned liveblogs.
As we say in the Rika Liveblogs series, I started this party, now, I'm shutting it down!
Let's continue.
Previously, some more things happened. Our heroes visit Shadvic's destroyed and unnamed city. It's decided that she will rebuild the city, and the group goes to the past to visit one of her (again unnamed) friends. After that, she sees someone.
We'll end this installment with...
Episode 5: The Dragon Mechs Genesis
For the last time, I direct your attention to the ultra-cool and very lovely "Lights" by Ellie Goulding. Because if there's one thing this liveblog needs for a finale, it's a fucking light show.
(Of awesomeness.)
After the opening credits, Gyro and Venomous visit the past. I presume that they're in Ancient Egypt, considering that A) it's a desert and B) there's the Pyramids.
And if there's one thing we've learned, Ancient Egypt can be a freakin' death trap.
Venomous decides that they must find Shadvic's friend...and the sun's getting larger. Calling it now: the Earth will crash into the sun, killing everyone and ending the stupid fanfilm! HOORAY!
Then...oh, God. Oh, my God. (headdesks) They meet the Dragon Master named Draco. But guess what? It's actually fucking Sonic.
...excuse me, I haven't done this in a long time.
(slams my head on a wall for a good few minutes)
(...later...)
Okay, now I'm better.
Apparentally, not!Sonic greets Gyro, and it turns out that not only is Draco a Dragon Master, he's a Dragon Master God. I'm sorry, what?
But wait, there's more! They absorb goodness and light, and if they get enough, they ascend to a higher plane of existence; but too much darkness? They get destroyed!
...is it me, or has GyroHedgie453 watched Puella Magi Madoka Magica prior to making the last bit? If so, damn, what a damn rip-off.
Later, back to the present, Shadvic manages to rebuild her robot buddy. Then...I guess it would be Zero's One-Winged Angel form shows up and is about to attack, but someone throws...water at him. Kinda causing some static there.
...I'm sorry. I don't have any sarcasm in me.
Turned out that Draco was the one who attacked, and he finishes Zero off with Chaos Starshoot. Shadvic joins in with Chaos Lightning Cannon, showing...I swear, I'm not making this up...a bunch of cities consisting of one being copypasted everywhere. Seriously, they look the same.
So Zero is destroyed, and it also causes more destruction to the city. Goodie.
...OR IS IT?
Because...as it turns out...I guess Zero is still alive, turning back to normal and swearing revenge. The series finally ends with him laughing. Kind of.
KAMEN RIDE: DIEND!
So that was Gyro: Dark Chronicles. Dear God, was it...painful. The plot is paper-thin at best and confusing at worst, the characters are one-dimensional, and we never find out what the hell happened to Sabrina!
But wait, there's more! We never find out why the cover version of Ghostbusters was used, why the backgrounds are just bland and boring, and...you know what? I think I realized something.
This is one story that, quite frankly, should be forgotten. I would be happier liveblogging a sequence of dudes getting hit in the nuts. Yeah, that's how bad things are getting, boys and girls. But I was curious to see how bad this is, and...
Well, to be honest? It sucks, don't get me wrong. But...the problem is that it's dull, boring, and very confusing. It isn't very rage-inducing, nor very insulting. It's just...there in a sea of suck.
...meh. Though I do have one question, namely...why is the title called "Dark Chronicles" when what we're shown is anything but? Truly, that is a mystery for the ages.
This has been Rika Liveblogs Gyro: Dark Chronicles. Until next time, see ya!
