In which Kazushi spills the beans

Welcome back. Last time we were on our way to get a new sword, so let's get back to that.

As we enter the shop, the antique lady gives us the new sword, which is still a nice bit higher than the stuff we can get from Kurosawa so far. Also it has a small chance of Counter Physical, so that helps. For today we're gonna head over to Iwatodai Station in order to chill out with the old couple. Why? Because we haven't done it in a while. No rank up, however. Disappointing, game. Most disappointing. Ah well, means we can get to the good, meaty plot quicker.

Back at the dorm command room, we find that Fuuka's being introduced to the whole gang, including Ikutsuki. She looks kinda like a startled rabbit right now, but I guess that's natural considering she's been thrust into a whole new world of danger, intrigue and Mitsuru. Ikutsuki pats us on the back for a job well done and lets us know that all three girls returned to the waking world. Well, I suppose there had to be a cloud for the silver lining of gaining a party member... The short version of it is that the girls, hearing the voice, went to school during the Dark Hour and got Shadow'd. Yukari takes the opportunity to gloat about it not being a ghost. Just you wait, missy, your time will come! Fuuka starts blaming herself, but Yukari quickly rebuffs that idea, with Mitsuru helping out. Mitsuru also drops the whole "hey, you have a Persona" bombshell. Fuuka immediately leaps on the idea of helping us all out with her Persona, so hooray! She even seems fine with living in the dorm, rather than with her parents. I do love it when they jump at the call.

Ikutsuki drags the conversation away from Fuuka's recruitment to talk about the Full Moon Shadows. They're finally starting to twig that every time full moons happen, so do Shadows. Junpei makes the obvious werewolf comparison (I knew I liked him for a reason) and Akihiko is pleased to know when to anticipate each attack. Guys, you know how I was rambling about that ghost kid way back in the first update? Yeah, he sorta told me all this already, so... No, just gonna keep talking about this like it's new? Okay. Anyway, the evening is free to us once again so let's go see if Ikutsuki has made any more punny comments about this Full Moon Shadow ordeal. Knowing him, it's all too likely. Or not, since there's nothing new. Pungeon Master, I am disappoint. More study, sleep and then it's off to Friday.

Before school Yukari stops us, wanting to know what we think about Fuuka. She's been pretty helpful so far, so let's go with that. Yukari still seems to have reservations about the whole "Fuuka joining us" thing, but whatever. In the morning we overhear two girls chatting about Ekoda getting his comeuppance. I'm suddenly extremely intrigued. Tell me every gruesome detail, ladies! As it turns out, this is Fuuka's class. She enters the classroom, quickly followed by Natsuki. Seems almost getting nommed on by a Shadow has mellowed her a little, as she's a lot more friendly towards Fuuka. See, kids? It's totally possible to change if you put someone in a life-threatening situation! Anyway, it's nice to see Fuuka making some friends outside of our Shadow hunting posse, but let's get back to Minato! This afternoon I think I'll hang out with Kazushi, since we should be getting a rank up with him today.

Off to practice without Kazushi once again. I swear he's missing more practice by not taking care of his knee than he would by just getting it checked out. Moron... Anyway, halfway through kendo practice we find Yuko on the scene with a text from Kazushi. Seems he wants us to go to the station. Upon heading there we see a pretty depressed looking Kaz sitting on the steps. He finally tells us the results of his hospital appointment. The hamstring in his knee is getting "ripped apart". Turns out all that training is detrimental to his health. Gee, who could have seen this coming? When we tell him that it's not so important, he explains that he "promised" to be the number one athlete in Japan. Ah, I see. This is one of those childhood promises to a dead friend, isn't it? Yep, his nephew got into an accident and messed up his leg. In order to get his nephew into rehab, he made a deal. He makes number 1 in athletics, his nephew goes into rehab to walk again. Huh. I... I'm sorry, man. I misjudged you. Just... just gonna go get this sand out of my eye, okay? -Sniff-

Alright, all better now. Rank 6 in Chariot. Getting up there with that, I have to say! Back to the dorm, Fuuka's room is getting fixed up, no Tartarus. Study and sleep. You people know the drill by now. Except no we don't, because ghost boy is back. Must you dog my every step, child lacking in flesh and blood? Blah blah blah, immense power, constantly changing. He then asks to be our friend. Look kid, I'm feeling generous, but don't use this to get pictures of me naked in the shower! That's not what friends do. By choosing the most apathetic response we get a lampshading reply from the kid about the But Thou Must! nature of the conversations with him. We also finally get his name. Ladies and gentlemen, meet Casper Freddy Pharos... who is apparently a social link. What. Death arcana. What. What. What.

Next time on Persona 3 FES: what.

Death means Change in terms of the Tarot arcana. And slowly, this Creepy Kid will change into a more friendly Creepy Kid. -laughs-
