Go To

Well, I guess it's time to head into the Passage of the Eidolons. Maybe we can find a way out of this flashback. We've been here before, the place's gimmick still isn't in effect, there's not much to talk about. Rydia does have her summons, if we wanted to use them, but most of them are too powerful and too expensive for this. We find some Fire Arrows right near the entrance, which is probably a better element to use here than Thunder. We head down the stairs.

Porom learns Berserk as we go through B2. There's nothing interesting here, although there is a Save Point, which considering we have nothing but casters in our party, we desperately need.

On B3 we find a Sage's Surplice in a hidden passage. Porom learns Teleport as we continue through the hidden passage to get the other chests on this floor. Porom learns Esuna as we make it to the Feymarch entrance.

Porom: What's this?

Palom: The Eidolons... I can feel them!

Rydia: ...

Porom: What's wrong?

Rydia: The training ends here.

Palom: Whaaat!? But we've come all the way down here and everything!

Porom: Is there a problem, Rydia?

Rydia: The Eidolons are not fond of humans going into the Feymarch. Plus, once you enter the Feymarch, yime starts to flow erratically.

Palom: You mean...

Rydia: If you spend too long in the Feymarch, you'll end up out of sync with the human world and everyone you know. Are you willing to risk that?

You seem okay with it.

Palom: I am!

Porom: Palom!

Palom: If we go in for just a little bit, that won't put us too out-of-sync with human time, will it?

That doesn't need to be hyphenated, game.

Rydia: I can't say... ...The two of you should wait here.

Palom: Lemme go with you!

Rydia: No! I'll be right back. Promise me that you won't follow me inside, okay?

We actually get to choose here. Eh, I don't think Palom can make that promise.

Palom: Come on! We're practically there already!

Rydia: You can't, Palom. Please... you've got to promise me!

Sigh... But Thou Must!. Fine, game.

Porom: All right. We'll wait here for you.

Rydia: I'll be back as soon as I can.

She heads in.

Palom: Sheesh. Why'd she even bring us here if she was gonna do this at the very end?

Porom: Palom... Why do you think Rydia brought us here in the first place?

Palom: Why? Well, because... Hmm. Good question, actually.

Porom: Maybe she wanted to test our hearts...

Palom: Maybe...

She comes back.

Palom: Whoa!

Porom: Rydia!

Rydia: Sorry to keep you.

Palom: Keep us? It was just a few seconds.

Porom: Rydia...?

Rydia: It's all right... Everything's fine.

Poor girl got rejected by Queen Arsehole Asura again, I guess.

Palom: But...

Porom: Palom, no.

Rydia: I... I'm sorry. We'd better get back to the Falcon. Cid and Luca are waiting for us.

Because I'm not backtracking through all of that, we Teleport out.

Cid: There you guys are! How'd it go?

Rydia: Great... Everyone's doing well.

Luca: Got a lot of training done?

Porom: Um... yes. Definitely.

Palom: You bet we did!

Luca: Well, guess what? I just made a big decision of my own!

Palom: Huh?

Cid: Luca is one talented girl, she is! She diagnosed an engine problem that not even I could figure out! I gotta hand it to the dwarves. The way they approach technology is like nothing I've seen before!

Luca: So we talked for a while, and we decided that I'm gonna be Cid's apprentice!

Porom: Really!?

Rydia: That's great, Luca!

Palom: Will King Giott let you?

Porom: Way to spoil the mood, Palom.

Cid: Are you ready to go?

Let's get outta here.

Cid: Take up your position, Luca!

Luca: Aye-aye!

We take off, and the Falcon flies off. We're out of flashback territory now, see you later.
