Day Twenty

After a night resting in the damsel's alcove by the ladder, we wake up. I go through a bunch of names as suggested by CULI to name her until I reach Trixie, a name also suggested by CULI. She really likes it, so we get up to find the exit. I notice her legs are broken, so I take the liberty of carrying her through the cave. However, I am extremely strong so she is barely a burden to me. So, continuing through the alcove, I grab a gold bar ($500, what's wrong with the economy?) and happen upon an altar holding a golden idol, behind it a figure carved into the wall. This is it! Oh boy, this is what all true spelunkers strive for! Also there was a snake crawling by but who cares. Thinking it's a trap, I drop Trixie at the top of another alcove up a ladder. As soon as I put her down, she succumbs to narcolepsy. I'm about to head to defile the altar, when Trixie suddenly wakes up and forgets she has broken legs and runs off the edge of the alcove into the idol room and lands fine. She then starts running back and forth. This will not do, so I quickly put her down in the opposite direction of where the obviously there boulder will probably go (she promptly falls asleep) and grab the idol. I then grab the idol and the boulder comes down.

Later

Well, the boulder made a hole in which Trixie fell in (and got hit with an arrow trap) and I grabbed a pile of gold bars and a gold speck (or nugget, can't remember). Also, I still have the idol. It turned out well. Also, the snake from earlier died. I head up a nearby ladder and whip a pot, revealing an emerald ($900) which I grab. Without the damsel and idol, I explore the newfound space pass the pot, including 4 gold bars in total. There was also a pot holding a snake, a spider (which made me lose a heart), the boulder, and the bottom of the chasm I drew (which had another 4 bars in it). There was finally a hole of which I could not easily get back up from, so I threw Trixie (call me heartless, I still have 3 left, and she killed a snake) and the idol down it. When I fell down the hole itself, I awoke a bat that I easily killed. To the right I had found lots of spoils I had forgot to write down, and to the left I found the exit and a arrow trap I had to pass to reach the exit. Being precautious, I threw the idol into the range of the arrow trap and it rebounded off the wall and hit me, removing two hearts. Anyways, I brought the idol and Trixie into the exit. In all, I gained $19,300 and ended up with two hearts (Trixie gave me one). This was a pretty successful two days. I called CULI about my progress and decided to rest on it.

Ah, Spelunker, we at CULI weren't expecting such wonderful news so soon! It seems that...well, minus the bit about her legs...your lady friend can certainly take a lickin' and keep on tickin'. Honestly, her getting hit with an arrow is nothing more than a side note? Pardon my tongue, good boy, but this dame sure sounds like a keeper! ...That didn't come off as too forward, did it? It's hard to tell with the modern rescue romance...

Oh, and the treasure! Why, you could buy one of those new-fangled, solar-hybrid-something automobiles with such an extravagant sum! Ah, but don't take your eyes off the prize, Spelunker; satisfying one's greed is but a bonus when it comes to the glory of exploration! We at CULI hope that you do not give up your quest, and to keep searching for the truth, no matter what it is, where it might lie, and why you're looking for it in the first place!
