* AlternateCharacterInterpretation: Arrogant and quick to anger but ultimately good antihero; or unhinged murderous psychotic?
** Does he truly love [[ComicBook/FantasticFour Sue Storm]] and would make a better partner for her than the emotionally distant and neglectful Reed; or is he an obsessed, rapey stalker?
* AwesomeEgo: Namor isn't shy about expressing how great he thinks he is, but he's got the godlike strength, hyper-competence and iron will to ''mostly'' back up his boasting.
* CompleteMonster: See [[Monster/MarvelComics here]].
* SugarWiki/FunnyMoments: [[https://comicnewbies.files.wordpress.com/2013/03/imperius-sex1.jpg Imperius sex!]]
** [[https://orionrampant.tumblr.com/post/181387526189/namorthesubmariner-enough-of-these Also...]]
--->"Enough of these pleasantries. And if you attempt to give me a Criss-mass present, ''[[DisproportionateRetribution I will break your arms.]]''"
** [[https://longerboxes.tumblr.com/post/50594591192/remember-that-time-namor-had-a-craving-for-bagels The things a guy has to put up with to get a bagel.]]
* DiagnosedByTheAudience: Namor's tendency to go from hero to villain DependingOnTheWriter is explained away as [[BlessedWithSuck a side-effect of his hybrid-physiology]], his brain unable to function at its peak outside of a very specific oxygen level. Given the behavior this imbalance causes ([[ImproperlyParanoid paranoia]], [[MoodSwinger passionate mood-swings]], aggressive and standoffish behavior), fans have diagnosed him as having a fictional form of Bipolar Disorder unique to himself.
** It's likely more a case of Intermittent Explosive Disorder as Namor actually suffers no symptoms associated with Bipolar Disorder such as mania or suicidal depression. That Bipolar disorder means "unpredictable anger" is a misconception probably stemming from the fact that a lot of people with Bipolar Disorder also have underlying - and like Namor often untreated - childhood trauma or even PTSD.
* MoralEventHorizon:
** [[spoiler:His attack on Wakanda]] in ''ComicBook/AvengersVsXMen'', though one could argue that he was mad at the time.
** [[spoiler:Destroying the Earth of the Great Society then reforming the Cabal to destroy worlds]] in ''Comicbook/TheAvengersJonathanHickman'' is not so arguable.
** For ComicBook/IronMan, it was slaughtering Roxxon employees for drilling oil in the ocean in a campaign of militant border control for the Oceans. For ComicBook/CaptainAmerica, it was infiltrating the American Navy with Atlantean spies and sneaking an agent into American towns to forcibly convert human citizens into only being able to survive underwater giving them no choice but to immigrate to Atlantis.
* {{Narm}}:
** Attuma's original headgear looks like a misshapen woollen hat, but later artists have changed into something more dramatically credible.
* NightmareFuel:
** Namor ''is'' everything scary in the sea personified for sailors in ''Sub-Mariner: The Depths''.
** Doctor Dorcas splicing his own DNA with that of a starfish. The results are... ''[[https://static.comicvine.com/uploads/original/1/15659/2258832-dr.dorcas_put_a_shirt_on_please_thunderbolts_171.jpg unsettling]]'', to put it mildly.
* {{Squick}}: Namor being very closely related to a love interest certainly counts.
