* AwesomeEgo: Gwrtheyrn, the lord who attempts to proclaim himself as king during the first mission. [[spoiler: Turns out he really can't put his money where his mouth is]].
* CrazyIsCool: Seire, leader of Phantom Thieves Anonymous, thrives on the spotlight, deliberately does everything with as much flair and aplomb as possible and is prone to leaving chaos and destruction in his wake... and seems to find new recruits wherever he goes.
* DifficultySpike: The bosses are generally as larger challenge than anything the characters previously faced. This is also the result of the GroundhogDayLoop plot.
* HarsherInHindsight: The initial portrayal of Eliziya's Echolalia is more irritating and endearing than anything else. Then you realise [[spoiler: it's actually just a mild manifestation of a far more serious mental illness... and Elizia is now falling prey to the rest of the symptoms.]]
* ValuesDissonance: Every player's character has their own moral attitude. This is particularly true regarding exactly what they will and won't kill. Jenny dislikes killing but desperately tries to assure herself that it's [[WhatMeasureIsANonHuman more acceptable if they aren't human]], [[TheBigGuy Hector]] will kill anything provided it attacks him or someone else first, but refuses to kill humans, and other characters such as Salvantas have incredibly complicated moral attitudes.
** Another good example of values dissonance is the root of [[spoiler: Julius's exile from his home. He was formerly the guardian of a young prince, whom, against the rules of his employers, taught the boy to fight. The Prince was then killed defending Julius in a brawl and Julius' exiled for his failure. Ben considers this utterly ridiculous as not giving a future ruler the skills to defend himself is in her eyes a far worse idea than teaching them to fight. ]]
