* AudienceAlienatingPremise: It's about a twelve-year-old WholesomeCrossdresser superhero. While the series became a minor CultClassic, this trope is believed to be the reason it never got a second season and faded into semi-obscurity after a very short run.
* BaseBreakingCharacter: Maz. Either a funny and relatable best friend to Guy, or an annoying selfish prick.
* CrossesTheLineTwice: Guy offhandedly throwing the urn containing Aunt Agnes' ashes at the wall in "[=SheZow=] Happens" is oddly callous and cruel, but Kelly's horrified "That was ''Aunt Agnes''!" takes the moment back to being hilarious.
* CrossoverShip:
** While the show's relative obscurity means it's not very prominent, some fans like to ship Guy with [[WesternAnimation/RandyCunninghamNinthGradeNinja Randy Cunningham]].
** There's a lot of fanart between Guy and [[WesternAnimation/StarVsTheForcesOfEvil Marco Diaz]], as the latter is also well-known for having a female alter-ego.
** Guy is also often shipped with [[ComicBook/{{Empowered}} Empowered]].
* CultClassic: Despite the show's limited run, it still has a small fanbase who cling to the hopes of a revival and think it's underrated. Even the creator has been trying to revive it for years.
* EnsembleDarkhorse:
** Coldfinger has only appeared a few times so far, yet he has tons of fanart. Probably because he's the closest thing the show has to an even remotely attractive male villain.
** Gal/[=DudePow=] has become popular among the fans long before her debut.
** [=SheZap=] only has three notable appearances across the entire show, but is one of the most popular villains due to being an memorably creepy, evil version of the already popular [=SheZow=].
%%* FanPreferredCouple: [[HoYay Guy and Maz]].
* GermansLoveDavidHasselhoff: It's a Canadian/Australian co-production with a mostly American fanbase.
** The show is also popular in France, owing to the fact that it was AdoredByTheNetwork by Gulli, which aired the show there.
** [=SheZow=] also has a small but notable Japanese fanbase despite having never been aired there.
* HarsherInHindsight: "Black is the New Pink" revealing that [=SheZow=] has a widely popular and beloved comic book series is this, since the real-life comic book series based on the show only lasted one issue.
* JustHereForGodzilla:
** Many are watching the show just for the crossdressing, as it's rare to see in cartoons (where it's not portrayed as a total joke).
** Other fans want to see more of [=DudePow=] in action.
* MemeticMutation:
** Even before the show premiered it started getting lots of attention on Website/FourChan.
** "Sock it to me, broseph!"
** '''SHE-LARIOUS'''
* NoSuchThingAsBadPublicity: When the show aired, MoralGuardians [[https://web.archive.org/web/20150913065652/https://www.glaad.org/blog/anti-lgbt-activists-claim-cartoon-show-shezow-will-confuse-children-about-gender decried]] it for "confusing kids". However, this served to [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YaqsYX_Qh5M increase]] it's popularity, and even GLAAD came to it's defence and stated that it was harmless.
* PeripheryDemographic: The show seems to have a small but dedicated LGBTFanbase, evidenced by a lot of the homosexual fanart.
* SoBadItsGood: The theme song. It's ''far'' from a conventionally good song, yet it's a bright, punk-y ear worm that manages to fit the show's lighthearted tone quite well.
%% ** Invoked with the puns.
%% ** The show itself to some. There's no way you can't love that premise.
* SpiritualLicensee: Guy is basically a western-made [[Anime/SailorMoon Sailor Starlight]] and ''Manga/RanmaOneHalf'', as they are all cisgendered males that have superpowers involving gender-flipping.
* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodCharacter:
** Wanda, the nosy reporter who Guy is shown to have a crush on in "[=ShePal=]". She had the potential to be an interesting addition to the main group, given how close she came to discovering [=SheZow=]'s true identity using her own intuition, being Kelly's implied best friend, and acting as a potential love interest to Guy who may even return his affections. However, aside from the aforementioned episode and a couple of minor appearances afterward, she never played a major role in the series since.
** [=SheZap=] had a lot of potential to be a terrifying recurring baddie, given that (s)he has all of [=SheZow=]'s abilities and memories - with him/her even infiltrating Guy's house and pretending to be Guy himself - but aimed at causing as much chaos and trouble as possible, and was actually one of the few villains to ''win'' against him. Despite this, however, his/her appearances were extremely limited - (s)he only appeared in three episodes across the show's 52 episode run - and the idea of him/her being the one villain who knew Guy's secret identity was never fully capitalised on.
* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot: Aside from Droosha in "Momnesia" (which was [[StatusQuoIsGod undone by the end of the episode]]), no one ever finds out that Guy is actually [=SheZow's=] successor. In particular, the idea of Boxter learning that [=SheZow=], the heroine who he hates, is actually his son Guy, could have made for an hilarious plot in its own right, but it never happens in the show despite several episodes hinting at the possibility.
* TransAudienceInterpretation: In spite of [[WordOfGod the creator denying it]], Guy is often interpreted as transgender or non-binary.
* ValuesResonance: Part of why it's considered a CultClassic - Guy Hamdon is a male who is gender non-conforming, but instead of being portrayed as a stereotype, he's a badass superhero. The public also celebrate him and are unbothered by his masculine appearance/name. Sometimes he gets grief for it, but he never lets that stop him from being who he is.
