As ''Endeavour'' has progressed (especially from Series 6 onwards), the former aren't keen on the move towards using contemporary (for the setting) popular music at the expense of classical, and some of the storylines which appear to have the younger Morse moving ''away'' from the characterisation of his older self [[note]] for example, by Series 8 he is to all intents and purposes TheAlcoholic, something the original Morse, although a heavy drinker, quite clearly was not [[/note]]; they also have little time for the Morse-Joan ship as, the obvious chemistry between Shaun Evans and Sara Vickers notwithstanding, [[DoomedByCanon it is a clear non-starter]]. The operatic Series 7 StoryArc involving Ludo was not exactly well-received either. |
