Maryse Mizanin (born Maryse Ouellet, January 21, 1983) is a French-Canadian professional wrestler and model who formerly worked for the WWE from 2006 to 2011 where she is a two-time Divas Champion. In early 2014, she became the wife of WWE wrestler Wrestling/TheMiz. Thus…Mrs…Miz? She returned to the company in early 2016 to help her husband win the Intercontinental Championship.

!! Tropes associés à Maryse
* ActionGirl: Pushed to win the divas championship twice in WWE before the physical wear and tear relegated her to a non-wrestling capacity.
* AlphaBitch: The picture immediately to the right pretty much tells you all you need to know about her attitude. Notably when Wrestling/MichelleMcCool turned heel, Maryse didn't seem to like the implication that she was trying to be the top heel on Smackdown.
* AlternateCompanyEquivalent: During the time she and the Miz were on [=SmackDown=] Live, she was one to Raws Lana — a leggy, sexy blonde with a bit of European flavor that acts as valet and manager to their real-life husband who competes in the upper midcard. In fact, for a period of about four months in 2016, Miz and Rusev's IC and US Championship reigns ran parallel to each other on their respective shows.
* ArchEnemy: Wrestling/MichelleMcCool, even after the latter turned heel they still didn't like each other.
* AttentionWhore: Well duh. Commentators even noted that during a championship match, she looked more like she was posing when doing a lot of maneuvers.
--> JR: "Maryse must think this is a quasi-photoshoot."
* BadassLongrobe: Her entrance attire, frequently.
* BilingualBackfire: When she had to face Wrestling/GailKim, she started trash talking in French under the pretense that she was wishing Gail good luck for their match. Right before it, Gail revealed she understood French and hadn't been fooled at all.
* BirdsOfAFeather: With her equally narcissistic husband, Miz.
* BoisterousBruiser: She stood up to Beth Phoenix in the Survivor Series match and came very close to winning.
* TheBusCameBack: Returned in April 2016 to help Miz win the Intercontinental title.
* CatFight: Had a very good one with Aksana at Bragging Rights 2010.
* DemotedToExtra: By 2011 was reduced to acting as the host for NXT Redemption which only aired online. Though this was arguably good for her as her strength was her character rather than her wrestling, especially as the injuries started to pile on. She continued in this host/commentator capacity in her years on the indies and then returned to WWE as her husband's manager.
* DirtyCoward: With the exception of Wrestling/Kanellis and maybe Aksana she seemed intimidated by every competitor she had once the bell sounded. It was more subtle when she first started on Smackdown but was shown to be shamelessly afraid of Wrestling/MickieJames by her Raw draft.
* DisproportionateRetribution: She interfered in Nikki Bella's Falls Count Anywhere match because Nikki had accidentally fallen into her backstage. Regardless of the fact that this was because she was pushed into Maryse by Natalya.
* EnemyMine: Subverted. She was heel at Survivor Series 2008 teaming with two faces (Maria and Michelle [=McCool=]). She knocked Michelle off the apron ForTheEvulz. But eventually Double Subverted as she tagged Maria in when she needed to.
* EverythingsBetterWithSparkles: Ring gear would often have some glitter or rhinestones on it.
* EverythingSoundsSexierInFrench: The seeming inspiration behind her initial announcing role on Smackdown.
* Expy: was thought to be one of her in NXT Season 3 so it's little wonder they ended up feuding.
* TheFashionista: Claimed that her gear was imported from France, and out of the ring she would wear glamorous dresses and jewellery. After leaving WWE she started a clothing line called House of Maryse.
* FauxActionGirl: When she returned from injury in 2009. She would utterly get the crap beaten constantly out of her in matches and only do her finisher to win. Also she won the Divas' Championship back but then immediately started losing to Eve and dropped the title to her on the first defence.
* FinishingMove: A DDT (preceded by a hair flip) called the French Kiss. And a heel kick called the French TKO.
* FiveMovesOfDoom: Forward leg sweep, camel clutch, Irish Curse backbreakerThat's what Sheamus calls it, it's the same move, French Kiss DDT or alternately the French TKO. Plus a lot of slapping.
* FrenchJerk: One of her first moments of characterization on the active roster was complaining to the trainer about her ankle, after seemingly breaking Cherry's nose with a kick. This was after JBL said she was France's best export.
* FrenchMaidOutfit: Wore one in a Halloween costume contest at Cyber Sunday 2008.
* GameBreakingInjury: Sort of. She returned to wrestling after her first injury and even got pushed to win the Divas' Championship a second time. However her wrestling notably suffered and she was eventually used less and less — culminating in being demoted to a character role. She has not wrestled since her WWE release, and in her return would only "wrestle" one match — a mixed tag team match in which she and her husband were unceremoniously beaten by Wrestling/JohnCena and Wrestling/NikkiBella.
* GenreSavvy: In the first round of the Divas' Championship tournament, Maryse saw Brie switch with Nikki and pretended not to, before hitting her finisher and winning the match anyway.
* GirlyBruiser: Moreso in her first year with the company as she wasn't physically aggressive too often afterwards.
* GoldDigger: Implied when she hooked up with Ted [=DiBiase=] (Jr). She seemed very enthusiastic when he promised to shower her with gifts.
* HairFlip: It was pretty much her signature taunt and it always seemed to stay in the style it started no matter how many times she did so.
* Heel: She was a baby face in OVW but was always a heel in WWE. Even when she split from Wrestling/TedDiBiaseJr, she remained heel. She's sort of a face by default in Family Wrestling Entertainment though.
* IKnowKarate: In real life, though rarely made use of it in matches.
* ImprovisedWeapon:
** When she returned from injury in 2009, she did so dressed as the Gobbledygooker. And used the head as a weapon to attack Melina.
** When interfering in Nikki Bella's Falls Count Anywhere match, she hit Nikki with the pole from the curtains that had fallen down around them when they collided.
* IntercourseWithYou: Her theme, "Pourquoi", has some suggestive lyrics, but American audiences don't bat an eyelash because it's all in French.
* LaughingMad: Sometimes showed this if the match wasn't going how she wanted it.
* MsFanservice: Used to welcome viewers back to Smackdown in the exact same way Sunny did years before. Her seductive hair flip, skimpy ring attire and suggestive pin attempts kept this up in the ring.
* PronouncingMyNameForYou: Would frequently chew people out for not pronouncing her name the proper French way. She didn't seem to mind people simply saying 'ma-reece', but it was a BerserkButton if they said 'maw-reece' (Maurice) or 'morris'.
* PutOnABus: Released by Wrestling/WWE just as she was coming back from an injury.
* RetiredBadass: Has no desire to wrestle again, though does go to conventions and acts as an occasional commentator for Family Wrestling Entertainment. Still talks trash too, declaring Wrestling/IvelisseVelez's DDT to be inferior to her own when the fans were chanting "One more time!".
* ShamelessFanserviceGirl: Her hair flip was intended to be seductive, she wore very little clothing, she played up her sexy French accent and would often pin opponents in a suggestive manner.
* SleevesAreForWimps: Her ring gear initially had detached sleeves. She dropped them and immediately started going after the Divas' Championship.
* SmallNameBigEgo: She berated Wrestling/Melina for taking so long to finally beat Wrestling/BethPhoenix, stating it would have only taken her five minutes to win the Women's Championship. (Melina responded with that being about how long Maryse lasted at Survivor Series before Beth Phoenix pinned her.)
* SpiritualSuccessor: To Wrestling/Sable most definitely. Wrestling/SummerRae is considered one to her as well.
* Stripperific: Honestly, wrestling costumes tend towards minimalism anyway, especially in the USA, but Maryse called special attention to Maria's, predicting her bra would not be able to survive a match. Maryse's own clothing was apparently robust enough because it was flown in from France.
* TakeThat: During an interview at the WWE 2017 Hall of Fame ceremony, Maryse bit back at Cena for saying she never did anything of note during her original tenure in the WWE, stating that what he said diminished the efforts of the women she worked with at that time. She also found it rather hypocritical of him to speak so highly of the Women's Revolution, yet had Nikki stand next to him as little more than arm candy.
* TheTease: Was labelled one by The Miz during an angle briefly nudging at their relationship in 2010. His tune on that subject has no doubt changed since then.
* TheUnfought: She and Melina never properly wrestled each other, aside from one Lumberjill match on the Raw leading up to [=WrestleMania=] 25. They never got a payoff match to their 2009 feud, as Melina went down with an injury, and feuded with Alicia Fox upon her return.
