Started way back in '99, [[https://web.archive.org/web/20131014034027/http://www.dragon-tails.com/ Dragon Tails]] is a daily, 3D-rendered WebComic that focuses on the lives of a group of eight young dragons, a pair of kung-fu squirrels, a cat, several malfunctioning robots and other assorted characters.

It updated daily for five years (only ever missing one update) and went on hiatus for about a year before coming back for about two years and then fading out again around March of '08. Dragon Tails went off hiatus in June '09 only for the weekly updates to stop in early 2010 again. The website has since become defunct.

There are about [[ArchiveBinge 2000 strips]] in all with a strong continuity and consistent humor.

Not to be confused with ''WesternAnimation/DragonTales'', the [[WesternAnimation kids' TV show]] with a similar name, although both coincidentally started in 1999 (funny enough, that show went off the air in 2010, the same year the webcomic ended).

!!This webcomic provides examples of:
* AerithAndBob: The main characters, named Bluey, Goldy, Brainy, Enigma, Lemuel, Corlis, Abijar and Cornelius.
* ApocalypticLog: [[http://www.dragon-tails.com/comics/archive.php?date=010428 Subverted.]]
* ArtEvolution: After the RPG arc ArtShift, long-time readers would've been surprised to see the visual quality has improved a lot, such as that the author has seriously improved both the models and the characters' expressions, among other things.
* ArtShift: [[http://www.dragon-tails.com/comics/archive.php?date=011226 The entire superhero arc was hand-drawn.]]
** The [[http://www.dragon-tails.com/archive.php?date=2006-01-01 RPG arc]] is another arc of this, the visual style was basically to look like a 3D RPG.
* ButThouMust: Beaten to death in [[http://www.dragon-tails.com/archive.php?date=2006-03-26 one strip]] of the RPGMechanicsVerse storyline.
* ChainsawGood: Blueu's weapon in the RPG arc is a chainsaw-toaster.
* ChekhovsGun: [[spoiler: Abijar and Cornelius]] show up during the first Christmas storyline when [[spoiler: they're actually in the artic looking for Santa. The reason? The later [[TimeTravel Time Travel]] arc]].
* CoolButInefficient: Most of Bluey's inventions.
* CousinOliver:
--> '''Barry''': Any nearby sentient machines you've built that are still operational?
--> '''Bluey''': Well, there's Colin, [[TriggerHappy Bios]], and Jay the uncomfortably enthusiastic toaster.
--> '''Jay''': YIPPE KI-YAY! THIS BREAD BE SMOKIN'!
--> ''[[OffscreenCrash *boom*]]''
--> '''Bluey''': So as I was saying, Colin and Bios.
* EverybodyKnewAlready: Lemuel was under the impression his crush on Firewing was subtle. It was not.
* FunWithAcronyms: Subverted.
--> '''Bluey:''' Behold, my '''C'''hristmas '''H'''olographic '''R'''efracting '''I'''llusion '''S'''ystem, or "Barry" for short.
* GainaxEnding: Spoofed. The dragons used the ending of ''Anime/NeonGenesisEvangelion'' as the only thing that could confuse an omniscient being.
* GeniusDitz: Bluey is, technically, intelligent, but his short attention span and passion for explosions renders everything he makes a potential threat.
* {{Henway}}: Subverted [[http://www.dragon-tails.com/comics/archive.php?date=030115 here.]]
** And [[http://www.dragon-tails.com/comics/archive.php?date=040108 here]] too.
* IKnowYouKnowIKnow: [[http://www.dragon-tails.com/comics/archive.php?date=041019 Poor Norman...]]
* LoadsAndLoadsOfLoading: Played straight with an Ion Cannon [[http://dragon-tails.com/comics/archive.php?date=991111 here]]. [[LampshadeHanging Lampshaded]] in the last panel and [[http://dragon-tails.com/comics/archive.php?date=991112 here]]
* LockingMacGyverInTheStoreCupboard: Colin can knit a nuclear warhead out of an old sack ''[[http://dragon-tails.com/comics/archive.php?date=000109 using his eyebrows]]''.
* MetaGuy: [[GenreSavvy Everyone]] in the RPGMechanicsVerse storyline, Enigma especially.
* MediumAwareness: Tim loves using this one.
** [[http://dragon-tails.com/comics/archive.php?date=991204 They're not going to have a punchline in this one.]]
** Combined with {{GenreSavvy}} [[http://dragon-tails.com/comics/archive.php?date=000124 here]].
** [[http://dragon-tails.com/comics/archive.php?date=000229 Fools! This is a comic strip!]]
* NoodleIncident: [[http://dragon-tails.com/comics/archive.php?date=991120 It's going to be The Easter Bunny Incident all over again...]]
* OffscreenMomentOfAwesome: What Bluey did with the [[HumongousMecha robot he hi-jacked]], afterwards it became a gag for the comic to rub how awesome it was in our faces.
* RPGMechanicsVerse: The most recent storyline drops the characters into one of these.
* ShoutOut:
** To [[Anime/PokemonTheSeries Pokémon]] [[http://dragon-tails.com/comics/archive.php?date=991216 here]].
** Davey Crocket, which is the name of [[TheCynic Corlis']] skinning knife.
* SuperPoweredRobotMeterMaids: The janitor robots of the future are inexplicably well-armed.
* TankGoodness: Pulled off [[http://dragon-tails.com/comics/archive.php?date=991116 here]].
* TalkingAnimal: Norman and [[spoiler: Normeena]] are the main two.
** Played with [[http://dragon-tails.com/comics/archive.php?date=991213 here]].
** Really played around with once [[spoiler: Moppy]] shows up.
*** And ''again'' with Luna, Colin's Pet Rock/Significant Other.
* TechnicalPacifist: When not piloting [[GiantRobot robots of destruction]] Lemuel is a huge pushover.
* ThisMeansWar!: A [[SesquipedalianLoquaciousness Verbose]] variation is done [[http://dragon-tails.com/comics/archive.php?date=991105 here]].
* WarForFunAndProfit: Bluey makes weapons for both [[http://dragon-tails.com/comics/archive.php?date=991117 Norman and Enigma]]. It doesn't help that he enjoys making this stuff...
* WeaponsGradeVocabulary: Corlis typically make a cutting remark, witty retort or sarcasm in whatever events that's happened, but his attempt to use his jokes as this in [[http://www.dragon-tails.com/comics/archive.php?date=010511 this strip]] resulted in a failure, as robots simply removed their speech recognition modules.
