''Juvenile Diversion'' is a SliceOfLife webcomic, written and drawn by Heather Lebria and Dean Farrington, set during the 1980s. It chronicles the escapades of a group of hormone-driven teenagers running a local rock band ([[TitleDrop whose name provides the webcomic's title]]).

Of course, balancing this with their budding sexuality and conflicting relationships with each other and their families, as well as more mundane teenage issues such as school and homework, is going to be far from easy...

!!This webcomic provides examples of:

* AdvancedTech2000: Several of Chris's inventions are named this way, like the Saunders Virtual Reality Creator 6000 and [[https://jdcomic.com/comic/vagin-abled/ the Gender-Bend 7000]].
* AlphaBitch: Courtney "Corky" Roberts.
* AltText: Present from [[http://jdcomic.com/comic/tryouts/ page 386]] (early in chapter 17) hence (previously, it's just the comic title).
* ArtEvolution: The current strips have very little in common with the first few strips.
* BecomingTheMask: The "bad" version: Courtney infiltrated the cheerleaders to get revenge on them, then promptly became just as much of a bitch as them.
* BelatedLoveEpiphany: Jason helps Kyle realize that he's [[https://jdcomic.com/comic/all-you-need-is/ genuinely fallen in love with Jenny]] after she had already broken up with him.
* BetaCouple: Kyle and Jenny, to Alicia and Jason.
* BigFancyHouse: Jenny lives in one with her family.
* BiggerIsBetterInBed: Kyle is well endowed, which leads to some very enjoyable times for Jenny.
* BrotherSisterIncest: Almost happened to Jason, [[SurpriseIncest combined]] with LongLostRelative (see below) for maximum impact. Jason is thoroughly embarrassed when he realizes it.
* BusinessTripAdultery: Downplayed. The husbands on a "business trip" are merely shown playing poker together at the casino of the same name; the main source of drama is teenage couple Kyle and Jenny, eloping to Vegas due to a pregnancy scare. [[spoiler:Two of the wives left home on the other hand, end up in bed together.]]
* CannotSpitItOut: Alicia and Jason, in regards to how they feel about each other.
* CatholicSchoolGirlsRule: When Erin and Kyle are forced to go to a Catholic school for a week, the former takes advantage of the opportunity to dress up this way, [[https://jdcomic.com/comic/its-all-so-depressing/ much to the latter's disgust]].
--> '''Kyle:''' My God, woman, put some clothes on!\
'''Erin:''' Never thought I'd hear that from you...\
'''Kyle:''' Seriously. You're ruining one of my favorite fantasies.\
'''Erin:''' Aw, I'm stuck here for a week. I may as well make the most of it...
* CoitusUninterruptus: Erin and Meg continue having private time offscreen despite the fact that Kyle keeps opening the door to their room to show a different person what's going on.
--> '''Erin:''' [[SarcasmMode Why don't you just take a picture?]]\
'''Kyle:''' I already did!
* DefrostingIceQueen: Jenny, due to her relationship with Kyle.
* DeadPersonImpersonation: Done accidentally. After an encounter with a landmine, a soldier wakes up in a hospital with identity amnesia, the rest of his platoon dead, and his dog tags weren't found. The only name he can remember is "Brian", which is assumed to be his. Then remembers his squadmate and best friend Jack, who died in the landmine explosion. Except it was the other way around, as he [[http://jdcomic.com/comic/exes/ learned painfully]] after informing Jack's girlfriend of his death (though one could say [[DeathOfPersonality in a way, the landmine had killed both of them]]).
* DiggingYourselfDeeper: Chris [[http://jdcomic.com/comic/blond-jokes/ trying to tell]] Alicia he choose her because she doesn't have ADHD.
* DrivesLikeCrazy: [[FreakyFridayFlip Alicia-in-Kyle's-body]] [[https://jdcomic.com/comic/see-the-light-2/ crashes Kyle's van]] while trying to drive to school. Also see NinjaMaid.
* EndearinglyDorky: Chris is the youngest, smartest, and geekiest of the protagonists. Naturally, this is why Evie is attracted to him.
* FamilyFriendlyStripper: Erin and Meg [[https://jdcomic.com/comic/straight-into-the-sun/ work as this for a night]] after the former gambles away all their money while the two are in Las Vegas.
* FanserviceWithASmile: "[[http://jdcomic.com/comic/busties/ Busties]]", whose waitress uniform includes an open shirt and hot-pink bra.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: Erin [[https://jdcomic.com/comic/call-the-fire-department/ is flustered]] when Meg-in-Jason's-body visits her, and subsequently doesn't seem bothered when she misunderstands Meg and thinks she's being propositioned.
* FlorenceNightingaleEffect: The chapter 12 flashback shows a wounded soldier and an intern nurse falling in love and planning marriage.
* FreakyFridayFlip: A malfunction in Chris' experimental VR system results in the members of Juvenile Diversion [[https://jdcomic.com/comic/a-minor-malfunction/ switching bodies with one another]].
* GilliganCut: Erin and Kyle's mom [[http://jdcomic.com/comic/exiled/ sending them]] to a Catholic school.
* GirlOnGirlIsHot: After Kyle gets [[GoodAngelBadAngel an angel and devil on his shoulders that look like Jenny]], he tells them he expects them to make out with each other. After a moment of shock, [[https://jdcomic.com/comic/dirty-thoughts-are-bad-2/ they do just that]], to his glee.
* GoodAngelBadAngel: Numerous characters end up getting these, though most of the time they aren't very helpful.
** Kyle is the first one to have these. It says a lot about him that a) they both resemble Jenny, and b) he [[https://jdcomic.com/comic/dirty-thoughts-are-bad-2/ expects them]] to [[GirlOnGirlIsHot make out with each other]].
** Jenny later has these as well, and [[https://jdcomic.com/comic/in-the-membrane/ both are Kyle]].
* GoingCommando: [[FreakyFridayFlip Kyle-in-Meg's-body]] proudly states that he's not wearing panties when he shows up in school in a {{Stripperific}} outfit, [[https://jdcomic.com/comic/the-other-end/ much to Meg-in-Jason's-body's displeasure]].
* ImprobablyHighIQ: Chris supposedly has an IQ of 181.
* InTheBlood: Guess where Erin and Kyle get their ExtremeLibido from.
* ItRunsInTheFamily: Erin tells Julie that her family is full of [[https://jdcomic.com/comic/hopeless/ hopeless romantics who hide this side of themselves behind a wall of debauchery and arrogance]].
* LaserGuidedAmnesia: [[spoiler:Sparky]] suffered from this, leading him to [[spoiler:think he was really his best friend]].
* LongLostRelative: The trope [[LukeIAmYourFather directly below this one]] ultimately means [[spoiler:Julie is Jason's half-sister]].
* LukeIAmYourFather: Jason's father is actually [[spoiler:Sparky]]. See LongLostRelative.
* MakingLoveInAllTheWrongPlaces: Jenny and Kyle have [[https://jdcomic.com/comic/the-list/ an actual list]]. It later [[https://jdcomic.com/comic/so-rudely-interrupted/ returns]] as a ChekhovsGag.
* MaleGaze: Kyle will often go out of his way to set up situations where he can see plenty.
* MileHighClub: Kyle and Jenny join it on their flight to the mountain lodge.
* MisterSandmanSequence: Alicia [[RipVanWinkle waking up in 2015]].
* ModestyBedsheet: Used to full effect right after Kyle and Jenny have sex for the first time.
* MySisterIsOffLimits: Jason [[https://jdcomic.com/comic/one-two/ punches Kyle]] after he [[spoiler:has a threesome with Julie and Corky]].
* NinjaMaid: Jenny's family apparently has one, who DrivesLikeCrazy when challenged.
* NotEnoughToBury: Implied in flashbacks for [[spoiler:Autumn breeze's dad]]: [[spoiler:His]] grave is empty [[spoiler:"because [he] died a hero", which suggests protecting someone from explosives]].
* OopsIForgotIWasMarried: [[spoiler:Sparky]] not only [[LaserGuidedAmnesia forgot his wedding along with his name]], but [[spoiler:mistook his dead squadmate for himself and wrote to his wife that he witnessed himself die]]. Needless to say, his wife was not pleased.
* PerkyGoth: Jenny is almost always seen wearing black and is one of the nicest characters in the webcomic.
* PornStash:
** Kyle's room contains enough pornographic posters [[http://jdcomic.com/comic/the-other-team/ to mess with Meg]], who's completely into girls.
** In the winter holiday arc, we see Kyle [[http://jdcomic.com/comic/thats-probably-how-jenny-feels/ discovering]] Jenny's gay stash.
** And much later, [[FreakyFridayFlip Alicia-in-Kyle's-body]] discovers [[http://jdcomic.com/comic/a-simple-plan/ Kyle's room]]... and [[http://jdcomic.com/comic/censored/ redecorates it]].
* RagingStiffie: [[FreakyFridayFlip Alicia-in-Kyle's-body]] is [[https://jdcomic.com/comic/put-to-the-test/ annoyed and embarrassed]] when she wakes up and discovers she has this.
--> ''[checks under her sheet]'' "Ugh, ''again?!'' Is this like, a regular thing?!"
* ReadyForLovemaking: Jenny pulls this in order to [[spoiler:make up with Kyle after they have a brief falling out. It works.]]
* RevealingHug: Cynthia pretends to cry and [[http://jdcomic.com/comic/freeloader/ hugs Erin]], but at the same time makes faces at Meg.
* SnowballFight: Done at the mountain lodge.
* ThatDidntHappen: Julie [[https://jdcomic.com/comic/its-a-trap/ tries to do this]] after [[spoiler:her drunken threesome with Kyle and Corky]].
* ThereIsOnlyOneBed: [[http://jdcomic.com/comic/close-call/ One bed for four.]]
* TitleDrop: Chris's logical idea for the name of the rock band serves as this.
* TomeOfEldritchLore: "The Book" has some overtones of this, though it seems more neutral. It warns that misusing it is dangerous, and the worst it has been seen doing so far is [[http://jdcomic.com/comic/the-sequel/ taunting Kyle-in-Meg's-body]]. It's shown in a flashback [[http://jdcomic.com/comic/liam-fitzgerald-number-one-dad/ giving Courtney a warning]] she didn't heed.
* UnrequitedLoveLastsForever: Erin reveals to Julie that she's been in love with [[spoiler:Jason]] for years but neither [[https://jdcomic.com/comic/reminder/ told him nor forgot about her feelings]].
* WebcomicTime: Mentioned at [[http://jdcomic.com/comic/and-never-brought-to-mind/ the end of chapter 18]], "It took me nearly nine years to cover five and a half months".
* WhatDidIDoLastNight: Kyle wakes up naked next to [[spoiler:Corky and Julie]], but was too smashed to remember anything.
* WhyCouldntYouBeDifferent: In a flashback, after Erin is kicked out of another school, Eileen asks Erin [[https://jdcomic.com/comic/nice-catholic-girl/ why can't she be a nice Catholic girl]].
* WorkOffTheDebt: "Team A" (Meg and Erin) after Erin gambles away all their cash.
* WrongNameOutburst: Kyle blurts out Meg's name while having sex with Jenny because he catches her peeking on them. Unfortunately, Jenny doesn't see Meg and gets angry at Kyle for doing this.
* YouKnowWhatYouDid: Pulled on Kyle by both [[https://jdcomic.com/comic/queen-bee/ Corky]] and [[http://jdcomic.com/comic/explain-it-to-me/ Julie]] when he desperately tries to find out how far they went when they got drunk together. Expected of Corky, but Julie really ought to know better. She wises up to it next page and [[spoiler:decides to spare him and Jenny from the truth]].
