''Dot Kareshi -We Are 8 Bit Lovers-'' is a trilogy of short [[OtomeGame otome games]] by Creator/{{Rejet}}, released in 2013. A FanTranslation patch was released in 2015.

The premise revolves around [[FeaturelessProtagonist You, the player]] and the 8bit [[EasternRPG RPG]] ''Ultimate Quest''. Back when you played the game, you made some [[VideoGameCrueltyPotential questionable decisions]], were just not very good at the game in general, and haven't touched the game in a long time, and the characters both miss you and resent how much you screwed them up so much that they managed to [[TrappedInTVLand suck you into the world of the game]] to see you again... Hilarity, {{romance|Ensues}}, meta video game humor, {{Fanservice}}, and plenty of bawdy jokes ensue.
----
!! This game provides examples of:
* AffectionateParody: Of the EasternRPG genre.
* BareFistedMonk: Monk. ...He can't keep his hands to himself.
* TheBeastMaster: Beastmaster, an animal tamer who developed a sadistic personality after the player made him use the whip too much.
* BigBad: Demon Lord in the InUniverse [[ShowWithinAShow game]] ''Ultimate Quest''....at least, until the Player [[CurbStompBattle effortlessly beat him]]. Within the actual story, it is subverted as he refrains from doing anything evil due to his crippling inferiority complex, and he serves as a possible LoveInterest, the story itself having NoAntagonist.
* BlobMonster: Slime, who made a wish to become human.
* CuteMonsterBoy: Slime is a [[BlobMonster slime]] who made a wish to become human.
* CuteSlimeMook: Slime is one of these in human form.
* DudeLooksLikeALady: Slime could easily be mistaken for a girl. Even his voice is very androgynous, despite having a male seiyuu.
* EvilOverlord: Demon Lord is a pastiche of the [[https://legendsoflocalization.com/tricky-translations-1-maou-daimaou/ "maou"]] archtype in Japanese fiction. He developed an inferiority complex because you beat him so easily when you played the game.
* {{Expy}}: Demon Lord is an homage to both the classic [[MaouTheDemonKing maou]] and the more modern [[WhiteHairBlackHeart white haired pretty boy]] JRPG final boss tropes, but his color scheme, facial structure, and costume evoke ''VideoGame/LunarTheSilverStar'''s BigBad, the Magic Emperor. in particular. Fitting, since [[spoiler:Ghaleon]] has aspects of both archetypes, [[OlderThanTheyThink and was one of the earliest examples of the latter trope]], [[VideoGame/DragonQuestIV though not the first.]]
* HisNameReallyIsBarkeep: All of the characters are named after their class. At least, we don't know of their real names, though the player did rename Hero to "Pickled Radish".
* HelloInsertNameHere: In universe, the player changed Hero's name to "Pickled Radish" while replaying the game.
* HeelFaceTurn: This was part of Dark Knight's story in Ultimate Quest III.
* TheHero: [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin Hero]].
* KleptomaniacHero: Hero.
* MaouTheDemonKing: Playing with JRPG stereotypes, the third game focusing on villains has a Demon Lord (though he also has traits of the more modern white haired pretty boy JRPG final boss trope), who developed an inferiority complex after the player steamrolled him after LevelGrinding.
* OneWingedAngel: Demon Lord naturally gets one in his route, befitting the RPG final boss motif.
* OverlyLongFightingAnimation: Wizard's battle animations for his magic were so long and flashy that the player just skipped them. He's not too pleased about that.
* NonPlayerCharacter: A random villager NPC is one of the love interests. [[spoiler:...And he's a yandere.]]
* RefugeeFromTVLand: [[spoiler:In the good endings for each character, the character you chose will come with you to the real world. Naturally, it takes them a bit of time to adjust.]]
* RewardingVandalism: Throwing pots is one of Hero's favorite activities.
* {{Sadist}}: Priest and Beastmaster.
* SinisterScythe: The Dark Lord sports one. Likely a ShoutOut to [[VideoGame/ChronoTrigger Magus]], whose name is also just "Maou" [[DubNameChange in Japanese]].
* TooKinkyToTorture: Knight enjoys his role as a [[DamagerHealerTank tank]] a little too much...
* TrappedInTVLand: The whole premise is that the player has been sucked into the world of an [=RPG=] they used to play. [[spoiler:In the true ending for each character, they find a way to make it back to the real world with you.]]
* {{Troperiffic}}: Every [=JRPG=] trope in the book is parodied, and all of the love interests are classic [=JRPG=] character archetypes.
* WalkingShirtlessScene: Dancer.
* WhiteHairBlackHeart: Demon Lord is ''supposed'' to be your typical white haired pretty boy [=JRPG=] final boss... Unfortunately, you whooped his ass HARD after LevelGrinding a lot, and he developed an inferiority complex because of it.
* {{Yandere}}: [[spoiler:Villager]]
