''Macbat 64: Journey of a Nice Chap'' is a [=3D=] {{Retraux}} PlatformGame by Siactro. It was released for [[Platform/IBMPersonalComputer PC]] through Platform/{{Steam}} on March 17, 2017, with a Platform/NintendoSwitch port in 2020. It's the sequel to a brief freeware game known as ''Kiwi 64''.

The game follows Macbat, a sophisticated bat, and his short journeys through various lands... yeah, that's all there is to it.

Of course, the real reason this game exists is as a love letter to old late 90s-era Platform/Nintendo64 3D platformers like ''VideoGame/BanjoKazooie'', and it certainly reflects in its presentation, featuring a bunch of wacky characters, plenty of platforming, and even [[{{Retraux}} graphics reminiscent of games right off the [=N64=]]].

Macbat would later appear as an unlockable secret character in ''VideoGame/Toree3D'', another game by Siactro.
----
!!This game contains examples of:
* BatOutOfHell: {{Averted|Trope}} with Macbat, as the game's title describes him as a "nice chap".
** {{Subverted|Trope}} with his apparent mother, as she tries to be intimidating at first but then realizes who she's talking to and just asks why he doesn't visit more.
* BigBoosHaunt: One of the levels has Macbat exploring a haunted house.
* BookEnds: The game starts with the Melon King being defeated and letting out a Wilhelm scream. It ends with the Melon King being defeated and letting out a Wilhelm scream.
* EmbeddedPrecursor: In the Switch version, at least, you can unlock the original ''Kiwi 64'' by getting the Kiwi Wings and reentering the Strangely Familiar Jungle.
* {{Expy}}: Kiwi is one of Banjo in the original ''Kiwi 64''.
* FarsideIsland: One of the levels in the game is made up of these.
* ForestOfPerpetualAutumn: One of the levels features constantly-falling leaves.
* FunnyOctopus: The game features several octopi of varying colours.
* HalfDressedCartoonAnimal: Macbat wears a monocle and a striped vest.
* HighClassGlass: Macbat wears a monocle.
* MascotRacer: One of the levels is based on racing games like those in ''VideoGame/MarioKart64'' and ''VideoGame/DiddyKongRacing''.
* PirateParrot: One of the [=NPCs=] Macbat encounters is a red parrot wearing a pirate hat.
* {{Retraux}}: The game is basically a love letter to 3D platformers like ''Banjo-Kazooie''.
* ShoutOut: The above-mentioned BigBoosHaunt level has a clip that looks like something from ''Film/{{Nosferatu}}'' in it.
* StockScream: Of the Wilhelm variety, used two different times.
* SuperTitle64Advance: Macbat '''64''', in the spirit of the games that were its inspiration.
* UnexpectedGameplayChange: There's a kart-racing level in this PlatformGame. It's {{justified|Trope}} as being a break from all the adventuring.
