''Override: Mech City Brawl'' is a 2018 {{Fighting|Game}} MechaGame developed by Balance Inc and published by Modus Games. It was released on December 3rd, 2018 for [[Platform/IBMPersonalComputer PC]], and on December 4th, 2018 for Platform/PlayStation4, and Platform/XboxOne.

The game is set in a world where various colorful, unique HumongousMecha do battle in the Mech Battle League as public sporting events. Arcade Mode sees {{Kaiju}} called Xenotypes emerge and begin destroying cities, with only the pilots of these mech standing in their way. However, the situation may be far more complicated than it seems...

The game is primarily multiplayer with an arcade and vs CPU battle mode.

Followed by a sequel in 2020 ''VideoGame/Override2SuperMechLeague''.

On September 29, 2022, it was announced that [[DefunctOnlineVideoGames online servers for the first game will soon be closed down.]] As of December 2022 it has also been delisted from online storefronts.
----
!! Tropes present in this game:
* AdventureArchaeologist Izma Rocca's pilot salvaged it from ancient Incan ruins and rebuilt it using modern technology and now uses it to fight the Xenotypes.
* ADogNamedDog: One of the mechs is a fish named Pescado, which is spanish for fish.
* AmbiguouslyHuman: Max, Vintage's pilot, might be a robot. Or a colony of nanobots. Or multiple people all using the same identity. Or just a guy in a mask.
* BloodKnight: Helena, the pilot of Contessa, is this. [[spoiler:She considers the FinalBoss fight with the corrupted Watchbot 2.0 the most alive she's ever felt.]]
* BunnyEarsLawyer: A large number of the mech pilots are very odd or downright silly, such as Crystal who's piloted by a teenage girl with her cat as her copilot. They're more than capable of kicking Xenotype tail if need be. Justified as most of them are the mecha equal of pro-wrestlers.
* TheCape: Several of the pilots are this, having joined the fight against the Xenotypes solely because it was the right thing to do.
* CoolOldGuy: Manual, the pilot of Maestro, is an old toy maker and general nice guy. Who happened to build his own HumongousMecha and decides to stand up and fight the {{kaiju}} attacking the world.
* CrowbarCombatant: One of the weapons available is a high tech crowbar, which can be dual wielded.
* DestructiveSaviour: It's nigh-impossible not to be when buildings crumble at a touch. Sometimes players will spawn ''in'' buildings, causing them to fall apart as the match starts.
* DualWielding: ''Any'' one handed weapon can be dual wielded in any configuration desired with the exception of dual shields. This includes crowbars and frying pans.
* EnergyBow: Vidar's main weapon is an energy bow and arrow. She has a chargeable piercing arrow and powerful explosive arrow, as well as a rain of arrows for her ultimate attack.
* FinalBoss: [[spoiler:The corrupted Watchbot 2.0.]]
* FryingPanOfDoom: One of the many weapons available. They can even be dual wielded.
* FutureBadass: Mirai is piloted by a battle hardened version of Watchbot's pilot Yoshio from a BadFuture.
* GaiasVengeance: [[spoiler:It turns out the trioxium pollution given off by the Goliathus Drives are what's causing the Xenotypes to emerge, and if the Titan Drives are launched could potentially cause far worse and causes Watchbot 2.0 to go berserk.]]
* GunsAkimbo: Any one handed gun can be dual wielded.
* HauntedTechnology: Contessa is apparently possessed by the spirit of her pilot Helena's sister.
* {{Heel}}: Salim, Mya's pilot, explains to Fujiwara that he plays this part to gain popularity in the League. Malika just thinks it's who he really is.
* HumbleHero: Manual insists he's just a humble toy maker and downplays any praise he receives, no matter how impressive the thing he accomplished just was [[spoiler:including saving the world.]]
* InvertedTrope: Many {{ActionRPG}}s and Arena Fighters[[note]][[FightingGame Fighting games]] with 3d movement more similar to a single-player action game than a traditional 3D fighter[[/note]], like Franchise/KingdomHearts and VideoGame/KillLaKillIf respectively, allow the player to perform special moves by holding down a bumper or trigger and pressing a face button. The first Override game, however, has special moves performed by holding a face button and pressing a bumper or trigger, at least by default. Averted in the sequel, in which special moves are performed by pressing two attacking buttons at the same time.
* JackOfAllStats: Watchbot, who's got pretty balanced stats and is suggested as the beginner mech.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Even the more antagonistic and standoffish mech pilots are this, given they jump into the fray against the Xenotypes and put their lives at risk to save people. The one exception is Max, who may or may not even be human, and is only in it for fun.
* {{Kaiju}}: The Xenotypes, giant monsters who have began attacking humanity in Arcade mode.
* LongRangeFighter: Vidar is this, being designed for mobility and ranged combat with her bow and arrow.
* MagicalGirl: Crystal is themed after this, complete
* {{Magitek}}:
** The first major boss, despite being in a mostly sci-fi environment, is patterned after a spellcaster and can use enchantment rings to hinder the player.
** Contessa is apparently haunted by the ghost of her pilot Helena's sister and utilizes similar magical attacks to the boss.
* OneWingedAngel: [[spoiler:Watchbot 2.0 transforms into a kaiju/mecha hybrid halfway through the final boss fight.]]
* PromotedToPlayable: Mirai is this for Watchbot 2.0, [[spoiler: With a pilot who brought it in from a future where it's been completed and modified to avert its corruption.]]
* RetiredBadass: Octavia the Iron Lady, DLC mech Bellona's pilot, is a retired Mech Battle League champion regarded as one of the best ever. Her retirement has done nothing to degrade her skills, and if selected for Arcade, Malika even outright says she could still be a top contender if she wanted to.
* OnlyInItForTheMoney: Salim, Mya's pilot, claims this is the case, but also is willing to step in and save the day even if it doesn't benefit him.
* ReallyGetsAround: Implied with Salim, Mya's pilot. He tries to date Fujiwara, but [[spoiler:the general reveals in the ending that he has multiple other girlfriends.]]
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: General Mavis is stern, but otherwise an okay guy. His decision to activate the extremely dangerous 'Project Titan' is one made out of desperation, and when informed of the true consequences and real reason for the Xenotype attacks, he quickly realises his mistake and helps to make things right.
* TheRival: Setesh and her pilot Malika serve as this in Arcade mode [[spoiler:though the actual fight with Setesh only happens once it becomes corrupted by the Goliathus Drive.]] If playing as her it's Yoshio and Watchbot, though she's still the antagonistic one of the two.
* RocketPunch: [[Film/PacificRim Just like Gypsy Danger]], all mecha have a variant where a rocket in their elbow ignites and puts its momentum into a blow. They also have them in their ''legs'' to do the same for kicks.
* ShoutOut: One of the skins for Mya is of LetsPlay/ProtonJon's one-eyed cat, Bagel.
* {{Squee}}: Dr. Fujiwara is a huge fangirl towards the Mech Battle League pilot Iron Lady. Bellona, one of the DLC mechs, is piloted by Octavia the Iron Lady, and playing through Arcade as her results in Fujiwara going full on into this.
* SwordAndGun: An entirely possible configuration if desired.
* ThrowAwayGuns: There's no way to reload guns, so they have to be thrown away for another one. They can actually be thrown at the enemy to get a little more damage out of the weapon.
* TrapMaster: Vidar has laying giant bear traps as one of her special movies to trap opponents. How many she can place is only limited by how much meter she has.
* UpgradeVsPrototypeFight: Any Arcade fight between the player and a corrupted mech is this, as they're all powered by Goliathus Drives, the upgraded version of the player's Genesis Drive. [[spoiler:The FinalBoss takes this a step further with the player facing Watchbot 2.0, who's powered by the next upgrade above ''that''.]] Inverted if playing as Mirai, who's Omega Drive comes from the future and is thus the next generation upgrade.
