* AccidentallyCorrectWriting: Ricky calls himself "fire retarded" after surviving a fire, meaning flame retardant. According to Miriam-Webster, fire retarded means to make something flame retardant.
* {{Blooper}}: In the 2nd episode of season one, Mr. Lahey and Lucy, who has Trinity with her, are both knocking on the door while calling for Julian while Bubbles and Ricky are fighting on the walkway and Jacob, Trevor, J-Roc and his crew are fighting in the driveway. Julian steps out and yells to try and get everyone's attention and that doesn't work so he grabs his gun and fires it into the air to get everyone's attention. However, Trinity can be seen putting her fingers in her ears to protect them from the sound of gunshots before Julian even pulls the gun out. Not only that but Lucy's actress can be seen checking to make sure Trinity's actress has done so before the gun is fired.
* CharacterOutlivesActor: Mrs. Peterson, the sweet old lady from the show's fourth episode who thinks Julian is her grandson, was played by Alma Godwin who was not an actress but was just another resident of the trailer park the first season was filmed in. Unfortunately, Ms. Godwin passed away in 2004, and though she may have been alive when the fourth season aired, Mrs. Peterson is still referred to in present-tense in the 5th and 12th seasons, implying that she is still alive.
* TheDanza: Many of the supporting cast share first, last, or both names with characters they portray.
* InMemoriam: The end of Season 12 dedicated one last scene of John Dunsworth (the actor who played Mr. Lahey) as he passed away on October 16, 2017.
* RealLifeRelative: Sarah and John Dunsworth, who play Sarah and Lahey respectively, although their characters are not related.
* ScrewedByTheNetwork: How the show and both movies were treated in the US. The show was picked up by BBC America, airing in a heavily censored version, and canceled after just two episodes, the first movie got dumped into regional release (in New York City and Los Angeles only) and the second movie went straight-to-DVD.
** Part of the reason why it took so long to find a footing in the United States was because of how conservative American stations are with censorship. Since it wasn't airing on HBO or another premium cable network, the show was [[ClusterBleepBomb just a string of bleeping interrupted by occasional dialogue]]. When the show was picked up by Netflix, it became just as popular in the United States as it was in Canada.
* TheCharacterDiedWithHim: Due to John Dunsworth’s death in 2017, Jim Lahey was stated to have [[KilledOffscreen died offscreen]] in ''Trailer Park Boys: Jail.''
* ThrowItIn: According to the crew, when they were filming the scene where they find Conky in the swamp, they found a real, discarded gun within the water. Robb Wells claims that it was used on camera later in the episode when Ricky pulls a gun out.
* VindicatedByCable: While the show has always been a national treasure for Canadians, it was a CultClassic at best in all other countries. Since its release on Netflix, it has steadily grown in popularity outside of its home state and has received several Netflix original specials as a result.
